I really think GW is gearing up for something big. A lot of model have gone Sold Out/No Longer Available lately.

The Wanderer Nomad Prince went 'Sold Out - No Longer Available' about a month ago on the US and UK sites. Its back on the UK site as if nothing ever happened, while its missing entirely from the US site. This may just be some sort of glitch with the online store(s).

Could it be because it's in the start collecting boxset now? Since it was the same cost I am sure not many people just bought the Carnasaur kit separately and GW is finally eliminating that kit or is it called an SKU?

I only saw it go on the US site. Not saying it didn't happen in the UK, but...only noticed it with the US site.

IF I had to guess, they might be preparing another sprue and option for the Carnosaur kit for a release later on. Might sound silly, but as great of a value as the kit is...I can see them trying to make it match the Magmadroth kit, where you can make three heroes out of one box if you follow the directions and build a specific variant.

I could see them adding another sprue with some bits of scenery for the Skink Oracle to stand on and an arm that isn't holding reins, along with a second upper torso/tail bit for the Oldblood/Scar-Veteran.

If they did this I would buy two more at least, on top of the three I have. All these extra bits and missing bodies for Oldbloods on foot and make-shifting bases for Oracle priests. I would love it dearly to have three heros out of one kit.

I think it is because in Canada the carnosaur is 100$ where the start collecting is 100$ with a carnosaur in it.

So for the same price you get a army with a carnosaur
Or just a carnosaur.

That's the same price as the US. $85 USD for either a Carnosaur or the SC kit.

If that were the case, they'd stop selling Fire Warriors and Crisis Suits, since they're in the Start Collecting Tau set.
$75 for Crisis Suits or $50 for Fire Warriors v $85 for both and the Ethereal on Hover Drone.

In time. Who is to say this will not happen? GW doesn't do everything at once. So time will tell. This could very well be the case when 8th edition comes around.

Tau Empire was one of the first Start Collectings, same as Seraphon.

Like I said, the best bet is that it's not a case of the Carnosaur being discontinued or any such trash. I would not be surprised at all to have the sculptor for the Carnosaur creating/created a third sprue.

Not unlike the Imperial Knight.

I don't think the Carnosaur will be discontinued Kanluwen. I agree with you there. I just don't think it will be sold separately for now, until they get rid of the Start Collecting sets.

I'm hoping it's going to turn out to be a new hero pack for the next hero quest game. (fingers crossed)

The won't get rid of SC. Great for new players, great for older gamers, and its still makes them money.

What would make them stop selling them?

I am guessing they are only going to sell the Carnasaur in the Start Collecting box, not separately anymore. Why sell something at the same price when you are getting extra minis for the same price? Mr Roundtree has stated and unless this changes, that there will be no price decreases I can't see GW selling this as is. It's one thing getting a discount when buying a Start Collecting but having an option to buy it separately if you so wish just for one thing is still an option. There is no option really for the Carnasaur. You either pay $100 for the Carnasaur or pay $100 for the Start Collectiong box. That is why I think they will get rid of the Carnasaur since they will not give it a price decrease.

Or am I reading this all wrong and people are saying they are getting rid of the Carnasaur all together?

I think its more that the carnosaur isn't going away, but may be either resculpted, redone in some fashion, or in my hope, another carno body added and the price bumped to 120 USD. That soul effectively make the kit 60 by itself, while giving you a Carnosaur to make, as well as a Troglodon.

Oh how I wish.
