I'm revisiting my Dark Eldar codex as I have just completed my 1500 point Tau army. For the time being, I'm starting with a small force, and due to funds (lack thereof), this list is strongly based around what I get out of the Battle force...

HQ:
1) Archon (140)
- Shadowfield, Punisher, Combat Drugs, Hellion Skyboard

2) Haemonculus (30)
- Stinger

Elite:
1) 10x Wyches (220)
- Wych weapons, Plasma Grenades
Transport: Raider, Disintegrator, Screaming Jets, Horrorfex

Troops:
1) 10x Dark Eldar (100)
- 2x Dark Lances
2) 10x Dark Eldar (100)
- 2x Dark Lances

Fast Attack:
1) 6 x Reaver Jetbikes (170)
- 2x Blasters

Heavy Support:
1) Ravager (140)
- 3x Disintegrator, Screaming Jets, Horrorfex
2) Talos (100)

I know enough about DE to know that I'll need speed on my side, which is why my HQ, wyches, and ravager are deepstriking together. The Reavers are going to be my wild card, distracting my opponent until I can bring in my three main things, sniper squads will camp and do what they do, the Talos will be supported by either the reavers as it advances, or the sniper squads. The Hameonculus is the big '?', I was 30 points short so I thought I'd just dump one in. Currently, fluff-wise ish he'll hang around the DE squads and if they ever get into CC that's what he's there for.

A few questions:
- Is the Archon too expensive? I've been considering downgrading to a Dracon, but then I'd have 55 points (I'd cut the Haemonculus) with nothing to buy.
- What do I do with the Haemonculus I currently have, my other option was buying another Reaver
- Anything I should consider for expanding? I know that I will get at least another wych squad and another sniper squad

At 1K a Dracon with combat drugs is all you need!  I'd drop the talos, the Archon,  and maybe a bike or 2 and try to come up with the points for 2 small raider squads.  Your wyches, Bikes, & Dracon need somebody  (bodies) to support their assualts.  At str 3 you need to hit opponents with multiple assaults to win.

This is what I would do

-make the archon a dracon, and give him a bike
-drop the Haemonculus (they are pointless without grotesques)
-add another 10 strong warrior squad with dark lances
-split the bike squad into 2 squads of 3

Anything else would be a totally radical redesign of the list, but maybe the talos can somehow find enough points to be a second ravager with disintigrators?
