Hello I have been working on these models for sometime the warhound has me hooked right now but it is no where near being finished. I had to hand paint it due to a broken airbrush but I think I have enjoyed it more this way. Please be nice and leave some good comments I like good advice. The thunderhawk I rescued it is authentic from what I know it came with its sheet. I had to give the model lots of tlc it came unbuilt and in a sad case alot of broken parts or parts ripped off the resin gates damaging them. I also had to replace alot of the bolter with ones off ebay. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy cheers! I hope the pictures are not too bad.

Thanks man. If anyone has a good idea on how to base or make a flying stand please help. I have gotten and read alot of horror stories/posts about falling thunderhawks.

Strong.

Also may be a good idea to spread thr load further down its length and make less of the weight in one location.

Wood might make a hefty base to counter weight it.

So multiple rods and supports on a long oval base made of wood. I think three rods will be nice at medium hight. I just do not want to drill into the bottom of this model so I was thinkin of maybe a cradle concept instead of rods.

YES nice. The huge impractical models are so awesome. Not kidding.

Agree on base for Thunderhawk: you need more than one rod and cradle. Trestle it up like a model train bridge.

This is an interesting model building stand.

I am figuring something like that out were it will be mid hight and have the front tilted down alittle. But as of now I have stalled on figuring out how to expoxy/hold the cradle togther.

I may update soon. I'm pretty busy right now and I also am trying to talk my group into letting me use these as they always bragged about buying, building and painting one themselves but they never lived up to it but talked crap on me because I was country when i said i was goin to get one. But heck I got mine first and painted while they have scratched built ones covered in dust.

Fair play, I would be terrified of putting it up on a flying base. AS you say the idea of it crashing to the table or worse off the table...

So I'm guessing when you get sick of one giant time and enthusiasm consuming model you can move onto the other one. Looks like way more than I could chew. You got your mouth full my friend, but fair play for hobbying like you mean it.

Great job so far on both!

Does narrative help? If so you could throw it open to the fiction forum folks to draw up some fluff for each. Bring them to life a little more in your imagination. I'm sure there'd be plenty of interest.

Just an idea, but its the stuff Dakka is made of.
