Reading through the 18 primarchs origin stories, some of them seem to have landed on the perfect planet for their unique gifts. Magnus landing on Prospero was rather lucky for him. What would it have been like for Curze to land on Prospero, with his ability to see the future being cultivated on a planet of potent psykers?

Others perhaps were shaped completely by where and how they grew up. If Angron had landed anywhere but Nuceria would he have turned out the same? Had any other primarch landed on Nuceria, grown up in the gladiator pits and had the butchers nails installed would they have turned into a mindless beserker? I think Russ might have fit in perfectly there.

If Magnus had landed on Colchis, the super religious society would have either killed him for being an abominantion or started worshiping him as a god.

Of the 17 planets we know about, which primarch would have been best suited to land there? Which one the worst? I say 17 because we really dont have a clue where Alpharius landed, and given what we know of Alpharius wherever he did land he would have done the exact same thing. So ignore him.

I think most Primarchs would have adapted to whatever planet they landed on.
You mentioned Russ fitting in well in the Gladiator Pits of Nuceria - I think he'd fit in equally well on Prospero, not the most gifted Psycher on the planet but doubtlessly powerful.
I doubt Magnus would have fit in so well in a superstitious culture like Fenris - being giant and looking like a traditional Demon makes it hard to gain trust.
There's a few different stories about why Russ dislikes Psychers, most revolve around the superstitious nature of Fenrisians.
One that I like is actually a fanfiction that revolves around Russ' belief that there is a link between the Librarian's methods of tapping the Warp, the Wulfen and the Flesh Change.
Sanguinius is another that I think would struggle on Fenris, not because of superstition but because the constant ice and storms would be a nightmare with those wings.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

Space Mutts have some pretty epic hairdos, I wonder if they make their top-knots by wetting their hair so it freezes vertical?

To be honest, I think all Space Mutts are born bald and when they join the chapter a bucket of red paint is thrown at their head: how the paint freezes on their noggin is their permanent hair style.

As they spend more time on Fenris the ice builds up ans their hair goes grey then white - Ragnar Blackmane is a freak and the facial hair that grows in as their gene seed takes effect is reddened by the flecks of blood from chewing their nails.
