Blood angels have a formation that lets terminators assault out of Deep Strike. Could you put them in drop pods to get them in safer and then let them assault on turn 1. Pg reference always welcome, thank you

From the rulebook FAQ:

"Q: Do units disembarking from a Deep Striking Transport also count as entering play via Deep Strike?
A: Yes."

How does the rule overide the deep strike restrictions and does it specify how they must come in ?

Ive just had a quick look at the rules and i can not see any reason why you couldnt bring them in drop pods for a turn one assult . The only thing is you would have to have enough drop pods for them allto arrive together

Does the Formation override Drop Pod assault?
You have 4 things saying you cannot charge (disembarked, deep struck, came in from reserves, DPA). The formation overrides reserves and deep strike. Open-topped overrides disembarkation. What overrides DPA?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

How does Drop Pod Assault in and of itself restrict charging?

I might have the rule name wrong, but isn't there a rule associated with Drop Pods, forcing the occupants to disembark upon landing, and not being able to charge?

Yes, they are forced to disembark according to the Drop Pod Assault rule. They're already forbidden from assaulting due to arriving via Deep Striking so there are no further restrictions added to prevent them from assaulting on the turn they arrive.

Perhaps I am just remembering older editions...

This works and the formation takes precedence over rules in the BRB (Advanced vs simple)

So yea.... this could actually work, and would be surprising and hilarious to watch
