Hey guys!

So i recently posted on advice on a second army, i recently got back into warhammer 3 months ago and have now a 1850 point necron army. However i'd like to start working on a second army to introduce friends, and also its an army i would enjoy painting + love the look of the models.

I was thinking of doing a Grey Knights + Deathwatch allies army. Or Deathwatch with Grey Knights as allies.

I love dreadnaughts and psykers. Both are super dope to me. Additionally the Grey Knight models are gorgeous.

I planned to pickup 2x of the Start Collecting Death Watch (Great value even with one commander going to waste)

And then some Grey Knights + additional deathwatch to fill out the rest. I only wish they had a bundle like BA, SW, SM have with a rhino + troops / dreadnaught + troops :(

My only question is is there any concern I need to have? Anything that cant be done in my plan. Also many say Grey Knights are boring, how come? I feel like with a psyker or two and deathwatch theyd be really fun. Am i missin something ?

Grey Knights get boring once you realize that 3/4 power armored knight units are borderline useless, terminators suck, and custodians do ard' killy guys better than paladins. Your characters are overpriced too. This leaves you with 5 units. Interceptors (which are borderline too expensive to take) dreadknights (which make interceptors irrelevant), kaldor Draigo, librarians and storm ravens.

You're codex dreadkbight n' a few friends. And with all the grav/ap 2 shooting going everywhere, dreadknights are far less spooky.

On the other hand, if you enjoy the painting and modeling aspect, and you're playing with newbies that aren't power hungry, I say go for it.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

As a starter army for someone who has never played, or even someone who's only played for several months, I wouldn't suggest either GK or DW. They are really elite armies that take quite a bit of skill to get victories with.

Saying that, from purely a painting aspect, they are two of the coolest looking armies out there.
