I'd like to get one for my DG army, but I don't really like the head on the GW model. Anyone seen something nice for a similar price? I kind of like the GW one, but the head bugs me.

Have You considered using a Plauge Drone head?
My Brother did and it looks pretty cool

A Skorne Titan (Warmachine/Hordes) could be a decent starting point. It has the fat/stocky bodyshape going for it, it's about the right size, and it's already bald and wrinkly; find a different head (or keep the weird elephant head), reshape the armour a bit with greenstuff, and give it different weapons.

I used one of the big Nurgle riding beasts from fantasy for one of mine. Plenty of Not-GUO models out there too.

Vargheists (sp?), plague ogres, ogryns, and trolls are all good too. I'm not sure anyone likes that head, but if you put it on a dark eldar ur-ghul it makes a cool herald

I second the Plague Drone head (flies that plaguebearers ride). It's the right size.

Ultraforge also had some nice Nurgle DP, but I can't find it now.

I kind of like the khornelike DP model (the one that can't be built different ways.

Maybe I'll buy that and utilize some green stuff.

Ooh, that works pretty well actually You can fit the Forgeworld Nurgle Terminator shoulder pads on him too, with chains and skulls for good measure!
