I am just getting back into 40K and am working on building a Nurgle themed CSM army. The style of play I am looking at is both durable and in your face. The following list is different from many that I have seen, but I feel it should be somewhat competitive and well as fun to play. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The only concerns I have with my list is lack of ranged heavy support and small numbers. I hope to make up for that with speed and durability. That's enough explanation, here is my list.

-HQ-

Chaos Terminator Lord, lightning claw, chainfist, Mark of Nurgle, Sigil of Corruption

-Elites (Lord's Retinue)-

4 Terminators

1. Power axe, heavy flamer, MoN
2. Power axe, combi bolter, MoN
3. Chainfist, combi melta, MoN
4. Power fist, combi melta, MoN

(this unit would most likely be deep striking for now and eventually riding in a land raider as my army grows)

-Troops-

10 Plague Marines ( 1 Plasma Gun)
Rhino

-Fast Attack-

4 Spawn MoN

-Heavy Support-

Maulerfiend with magma cutters

1 Obliterator with MoN and Veterans of the Long War

Total: 1,002 points

I feel like this army offers very devastating close combat options that would close in on the opposing army quickly. The Obliterator could hang back and offer support fire as my plague marines, spawn and maulerfiend close in. These 3 threats would be moving quickly towards the opposition and would not allow them to just focus on one big threat. Hopefully my Lord and Terminators will deep strike in time to provide the final blow and secure objectives with my plague marines after the spawn and maulerfiend have done their damage. Like I said before, the lack of range attack and not a lot of characters on the board are my two main concerns. Hopefully the speed and killing power of the spawn and maulerfiend can counter balance these deficits. The Oblit will hopefully get a couple of good shots off before becoming a sacrificial lamb that drew enough attention away from my other units. I feel like this would be a fun army to play and could provide a good base to build off of. Please let me know what you think.

Cool little army you got here. I like your idea, this is a nice place to start building your army.

Thanks. I'm working on building it right now and I will see how it works in a few weeks.

Right now I am debating whether or not to go with only 7 plague marines and get a second oblit or if I should go with 7 plague marines, skip the oblits and get a predator with lascannons. I still like my original list as well, just not sure which of these three options would be most effective. Any advice would be appreciated!
