So I've just decided to pick up where I left my nids many years ago. I have never played a single game with them yet and I dont even know how I should build the list.

How should I structure the list? what models should I get next? etc

Any kind of help would highly appreciated


Here is the models that I currently have:

HQ:

1x Hive Tyrant w/ Lashwhip & Bonesword, Heavy Venom Cannon, Adrenal Glands

3x Tyrant Guard w/ Scything Talons, Rending Claws

Troop:

44x Hormagaunt

3x Tyranid Warrior w/ Scything Talons, Devourer

2x Tyranid Warrior w/ Rending Claws, Deathspitter

1x Tyranid Warrior w/ Rending Claws, Barbed Strangler

1x Ripper Base

Fast Attack:

20x Gargoyle

What are you wanting to do with nids? B.c as a competitive style list there is a "base" and then 3-4 units of "flavor"

Competitive is basically
3-5 Dakka Flyrants (Flying Hive Tyrants with 2 Devourers)
3-5 Mucolids
Malanthrope
The rest is up to you between Mawlocs, Lictors, Hive Crones.

If you are wanting to go for fun lists then still take some of the above (just 1-2 at most, this will give you a more evenly play game), some gants/warriros are always fine and Goyles are pretty good too (better than gants for sure)


Honestly I would get a Malanthope FOR SURE, this and at least 1 Dakka Flyrant are almost a must.

To get a cheap Malanthrope you can use the Hive Tyrant new box set and make one (its like 20$ more for the Forge World Malanthrope and you might have shipping but if you dont like to convert thats fine).

If you want a "not for serious", but fairly fun force look at building a "Unending Swarm" and add for taste.

You'll need a bunch of Termagants, then you can build a CAD with your Walking Tyrant, and have a fun force that can win, at least some of the time.
