The 30k Magnus will be totally different, so whatever GW released wouldn't be for that game anyway given the setting differences. This model is pretty great as are the new Kabuki models (Emphasis on NEW).

I'm largely in agreement - the Citadel Magnus' face looks like he's contemplating his haemarroids and his weird fang-hands are nasty. The WE sculpt is far more dignified, although the lack of his iconic nipple-horns is somewhat disappointing.

That Magnus looks pretty damn awesome, I know some people who have been waiting on FW will probably just grab this guy. Same with Dorn, Alpharius, I mean we haven't heard anything so I guess secrecy has its price?

Exclusive is like a less overt, less OTT version of Hi-Tech Miniatures (who I adore!). I fear that their totally-not-Primarch line could end up tipping those scales.

Hmm. I have a LOT of spare gun drones, and these don't look hard to convert from GW gun drones. Line up the pulse carbines vertically, sandwiched between two gun drone hulls.

I like the Magnus model but feel that he has some flaws. He seems a little skinny and the face looks a bit off from the side, I thought the same as Schmapdi in that he had a Native American vibe about him. I think it's the nose... Some of the raised details look a little too raised as well. I see a lot of that on models you see on Shapeways that get a little too carried away.Probably not as noticeable in person though as renders tend to exaggerate features like that.
Still a good looking model however. Depending on the price I will probably pick one up and maybe set at him with a knife to make a different character entirely. I am making an alt-future TSons army after all!
Hopefully they make some more TSons stuff. I have their terminators and marines already and they are excellent sculpts.

It probably has the same method as the Forge World Elysian Tauros Ventor- "rugged drive axles are individually powered by high-yield galvanic motors"

I really wish the hover pods had looked a little less like GW drones.. I get it (kind of) but I would've loved to use these for non-Tau purposes. Even for Tau purposes it just seems a little silly that EVERYTHING would be driven by those little drones. It just reminds me of the little dog in How The Grinch Stole Christmas.. when he was pulling that big ass sleigh.. That.. and it just kinda seems like lazy design compared to their other offerings :( I'm not super upset or ranting or raging or anything. I was just really hoping they would go a different direction here and am a bit let down. I still think these guys are awesome.. just not my cuppa on this one. EDIT: All of that is towards the idea of this being a civilian craft.. which.. using military drone designs as the propulsion is completely silly.. For a made up military scout type thing or even a tetra or whatever they're called.. it's fine. (end rant.. I mean.. not-rant)

I have about a dozen of the miniatures, the sculpts are certainly getting better and they are well cast.
I ordered a couple cars for a scenario I want to run which are on the way to me- I haven't seen very many pictures of them 'in the wild' so I am eager to see them in person.
'Greater Good' car looks pretty sweet to me.
