Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

The army I am building up at the moment, won't go into detail:

The Endless Night
Origin: Night Lords
Leader: Lacerat Mentis
Chaos dedication: Undivided
Colours: Night Sky Blue, Gold Trim
Specialty: Terror tactics, creative torture
Strength: Few
Battle Cry: "The Night shall continue to fall!"

- After the death of Konrad Curze the Night Lords were torn apart: some wished to create their own warbands, some wished to work as mercenaries, and some even believed that they could succeed the great Curze.
- Lacerat Mentis was a captain who served under the Night Crawler, he idolised Curze and strode great lengths to emulate his Primarchs vicious and cruel techniques. He viewed such things as an art form.
- Mentis banded together a large group a fanatics among the Legion who all too saw Curze as an inspiration.
- In order to become more like Curze they first had to learn all there was to know of Curze.
- This led to raids upon vast libraries and even the fabled planet of the sorcerers in attempts to find lost knowledge of their fallen Primarch.
- Many of their numbers were lost in those raids but they had found what they had been looking for.
- The warband seeded themselves upon a world rife with crime, much like that of their homeworld Nostramo, Nostramo's sister planet: Ulan Huda.
- Upon this planet they carried out acts of great torment and butchery upon the citizens of the planet, carrying out 'justice' as they saw fit.
- The continuous torture and gratuitous acts led most of the legion to form the coveted 'fracture of Curze' in which members of the legion form split personalities, one of a 'normal' legionary, the other of an unhinged psychopath.
- Eventually the watchers of the sector, The Death Spectres, caught wind of vigilante justice and cult/publicly displayed sacrifices.
- Suspecting chaos cults, they set about to purge the planet. However, when they arrived they found no citizen would dare go out at night, let alone carry out acts of heresy.
- The cullings continued but The Death Spectres could not discovery the origins of the attacks.
- This all changed when, in their frustration, the Astartes began to desperately execute those they believed were behind the killings.
- This lead to Mentis and his unhinged warband to turn on The Death Spectre.
- The gritty skirmish level war that ensued suited The Endless Night tremendously leading to severe losses for the Loyalists.
- Despite this, Mentis and his forces could not survive indefinitely: The Death Spectre were supported by the local PDF and, despite their losses, were doing damage to the fractured Night Lords.
- In one of his brief moments of clarity Mentis called off his forces and ordered a retreat into the Maelstrom, lest Curze's teachings be lost forever.
- For now Mentis waits inside the storm, collecting relics and rebuilding his forces before they can venture forth into real space again.
- But it is assured, Night shall continue to fall upon those in Ultima Sementum. One day, morning shall never come for those Imperial citizens, and when that day comes, they shall suffer The Endless Night.

This is just a brief outline of their history, I want to add a bit more to their war with The Death Spectre, flesh out some of the raids in search of knowledge and I want to do some more in depth fluff on their mental disorders, their scewed moral compass and the techniques which they have emulated from Curze. I also might change some things around as my army goes and flesh out a few of the named characters.

Working on it

Well, well, well, which army to do... I'll just stick with my Necrons.

Dynasty: Dahk'ash
-Known for their brutality, martial nature, and the frigid aura that surrounds them. When the Dahk'ash marched to war, it was on the wings of carrion flights and with hordes of canoptek machinations. Where the Dahk'ash were found, there was war, ruin, and ice. Worlds withered into barren wastelands and armies froze in their steps wherever the Butcher's gaze fell. They conquered many systems and were the bane of any and all who faced them, but like many before them and many who would follow, the Butcher's never ending appetite for war stretched the forces of the Dahk'ash too thin and the ice broke. In the midst of a war that stretched through systems the Butcher and his legions were made to sleep, the outcome of the war was never truly decided.

Leadership:
-The Dahk'ash are led by a triarch called, 'The Frozen Court'. This consists of the Phaeron and his two most trusted advisors. Below them were once many Nemesors who commanded the Butcher's legions, now very few remain, and even fewer are awake.

The Frozen Court:
-Ahtanath, the Butcher, Phaeron of the Dahk'ash: The Butcher earned his title after returning from conquest draped in the helmets of slain champions, a cloak he still wears. As of current, Ahtanath has yet to awake from his cold sleep, what awoken forces there are are led by the other two members of his court. He was last seen having no lower jaw and numerous gnashes in his necrodermis, whether this is on purpose or due to a flaw in his reanimation subroutines is unknown.
-Daragok, the Carrion Lord: Daragok is as formidable a strategist as he is an opponent, it is for this reason he captains the Dahk'ash flag ship (Name Unknown) and commands the entire Dahk'ash fleet, often operating through other Nemesors. His potential is best met in void and aerial combat but when the Butcher takes to foot, Daragok is often seen with him. The current location of the Carrion Lord was unknown, but Necron Sentinels from the Kageros Dynasty recently have discovered his whereabouts on the outskirts of the Charadon System. Not much else is known for contact was lost very soon after arrival.
-Inetkarus, Canoptek Lord: Resembling more a heavily modified Overlord, Inetkarus is the chief scientist of the Dahk'ash and leader of its canoptek hordes. Tasked with creating constructs to retro-form conquered planets to better suit the Dahk'ash he has created several classes of beasts to carry out this work, among these creations number the Canoptek Aphids, Canoptek Locusts, Canoptek Mantises, and the lumbering Canoptek Goliaths. Although tasked with changing a planet, they can easily turn their efforts to war as well. If pict captures from a Kageros Sentinel are correct, Inetkarus is awake and working with Dagarok.

To what purpose these awakening legions are committing themselves too is unknown, but if history is any warning, it is best if they are dealt with before they can reclaim their strength.

This is all I have on them for now but I still have a lot in the works.

War Coven of the Coruscating Gaze ~3000pts
