I'm wanting to make a bunch of decoration for a bunch of chaos tanks and would love to automate it. Anyone used a machine to cut designs out of acrylic sheet? I'm mostly thinking 0.5mm but might sometimes do 1mm or even 1.5.

I've got a silhouette cutter that I use on 1mm thick styrene. mine doesn't cut all the way through but it's usually pretty easy to go back over with a hobby knife.

Wanting to buy a laser cutter? They are pretty expensive, even the smallest ones.

Silhouette machines are affordable but as Novasetri says, they will only cut up to.5 all the way through.

Any local workshops near you? Collages, schools, universities Etc?

Yeah I'd say with laser cutting it's best to out-source it. Definitely do some research and find a workshop near you - most will take a commission for not a great deal.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

I'm seeing machines for around £300, I guess these are the sort that can manage 0.5mm? That'd be good enough.
