Am i crazy for wanting to do a mixed Destruction army without any Ogor units?
I have the majority of these models and thought they would make a decent list, or at least be fun to play!

Would appreciate some advice!

- General
- Trait: Ravager
- Artefact: Battle Brew

Orruk Warchanter (80)

Moonclan Grot Shaman (60)
- Artefact: Talisman of Protection

10 x Orruk Ardboys (180)
- 5x Pair of Choppas or Smashas
- 5x Big Choppas

5 x Orruk Brutes (180)
- Pair of Brute Choppas

10 x Orruk Ardboys (180)
- 10x Choppa or Smasha & Shields

3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (180)
- Pig Iron Choppas

20 x Moonclan Grots (120)
- Pokin Spears & Moon Shields

20 x Moonclan Grots (120)
- Bows & Slittas

20 x Moonclan Grots (120)
- Pokin Spears & Moon Shields

5 x Orruk Brutes (180)
- Pair of Brute Choppas

3 x Grot Fanatics (90) one in each Moonclan unit

Aleguzzler Gargant (180)

Grot Spear Chukka (120)

Crazy as a Bat-winged Loony, Grim! And just as fun at parties, I imagine.

Looking over the list my first thought is about the choice of goblin tribe: do you prefer the shroom lads/ have them laying around or do you have particular synergies you want to make with the rest of the army? I have had tons of fun myself using a regular goblin shaman on wolf to give a mobile rending boost - 40 screaming gitz with 3+/4+/-1 per model, with every model in range to make attacks, is not something most heavy units would willingly engage. Do please let us know what your reasoning was, especially since I don't see enough goblin lists circulated these days (was Battle for Skull Pass a major factor in the night goblin decision, perhaps?)

Wandering also if the Orruk warboss is mounted, since that would add an inch or two to his area of effect abilities.

In all though I would say you are taking a bit of a risk with your Ironjaw units by giving them the shorter range weapons because I see that ironfist getting bogged down the entire game fighting endless chumps while the goblins and characters get [potentially] incinerated by enemy heavy cav. Then again, it's a fast moving army itself due to allegiance and such. just be careful the battle brew isn't literally wasted by a cannonball in turn one.

Once again the quality of advice all depends on your game plan. Just don't fire yourself out of any catapults any time soon with wings and a spiky helmet strapped to you.

His Megaboss is on foot. For a Maw-krusha he'd need to find an additional 380 points.

Thanks for the comments, Mraj and Ghaz.

Mraj, you hit the nail on the head - I have a few Moonclan minis from Skull Pass kicking around, as well as a Moonclan boss on Giant Squig that I like and may want to use for a goblin alliance list someday. This list is a start to getting a larger Destruction list going, as well as a way to shore up the ranged issue Ironjawz have (not that this list has a lot of range).

I'm not against using standard Gitmob with bows, as I do really like the Shaman's Sneaky Stabbin' spell, but I only have 10 wolf riders currently, and they didn't seem to warrant including a Shaman just for that small amount of gits. A gitmob shaman on a wolf would be a fun conversion, though. If I could find a bunch of Gitmob for cheap, I would probably get them for a Battleline unit.

The Moonclan Shaman is 20 points cheaper than the Gitmob one, and he was in there for theme and as a cheap Mystic Shield caster more than anything.

I just compared the costs of the Gitmob to the Moonclan, and Gitmob are 20 points cheaper for the same wounds. Hmm. I do kinda still like Moonclan because you can hide a Fanatic or three in their ranks, and having them as backfield objective holders with hidden Fanatics would be off-putting to the enemy moreso than a unit of standard Gitmob, I would think. Is that worth the combined 50 points per Fanatic, though...?

The Megaboss is not mounted, if only I had the model of the Maw-krusha... His base is a good size and he should be pretty good up front. Maybe he should have the Talisman of Protection instead...?

Apparently I will either need glasses or anti hallucinogenic medicine in the near future, bc I could have sworn it said Orruk Warboss rather than Megaboss.

Here's a thought in case you find yourself with more cash and determination than sense:

step 1. Buy a box of wolf riders - about $40-45 US
step 2. assemble riders with spears and no shields. this step is crucial, it will be important later on
step 3. [Optional] cut the spear tips off the riders and glue them to their of hands.
step 4. attach shields or things from the bitz box directly to the spear shafts, close to the top and possibly not covering the points.
step 5. Paint

Perform a similar process for 10 Warbosses on wolves.

congratulations, you now own 10 wolf rider shaman for $4 a piece. I will do this trick with the next box of Night goblins I buy from GW since $35 is way cheaper than [(9.9*20)=$198] $198.
Gotta love greenskin ingenuity.
