I've seen it today but not before,

everything on Dakka (but nothing else) is running really slowly

(Windows 10, IE/Chrome/Firefox)

I've noticed it yesterday and then again at the moment, however there was a break earlier today for a while where it performed normally. Using windows 10 with chrome as well, noticed the same behaviour from an Android running chrome as well.

Very slow on the phone, and I tried clearing my whole internet everything on the phone. Didn't help. Terribly slow.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I'm glad this isn't just me, everything on Dakka today has been very slow, other websites working normally. On top of that I had a post get 'stuck' like they do on big threads but on quite a short one and I see the topic below this one may point to this being related.

Firefox, Windows 10.

Hope it's nothing serious.

P.S. Posting in this thread has been particularly challenging.

I'm on a windows phone.

Dakka is so slow its practicaly impossible to use.

Had it got to machine god admin total offline also.
Site is slow as snail with arthritis and asthma pulling a oil tanker in a pool of drying concrete.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

Lego probably gave the server a kick, or else the Omnissiah is looking favorably upon us.

Aye. I believe sacred machine oil and a grox is the listed requirement.

Okay I've been having more trouble than ever, was one yakrifice not enough or was I meant to do it inside a ring of burnt lego?

You've answered your own fault there mate

I did just have a hiccup for about half an hour though, where I could only access the Index page of the Forum. Now I'm very curious about what might be going on.

I had partial access to the forum, the rest of it was stuck on the construction page no matter how much I cleared my cache. I deleted my bookmarks and made new ones for the main pages which seemed to clear something that the cache clearing wasn't doing. I don't understand it at all.

I've purged Firefox half a dozen times now and let CCleaner have a bash at it too but I'm still seeing some random images in posts and signatures as the under construction image.

I did have to restart the server a second time (as the site was unresponsive again about an hour after the first restart), but it seems to be pretty stable now.

Thanks, it certainly seems to be running smooth.

Any idea what I can do about the image problem? I'm getting the "Dakka Dakka Update In Process" image showing up instead of a lot of signatures and gallery images. Cleared everything a few times. Firefox, Windows 10.

Besides doing all that, make sure you log out and then log back in.

In fact, you probably want to log out, clear your cache and then log back in again.

Also, each browser has one key you can hold down when you click 'refresh' on a page that clears your local image cache. For Firefox, I believe it is the 'shift' key (so hold down 'shift' and refresh a page and it will clear the image cache).

Give those a try and if nothing still works, you'll have to wait for Lego.

Thank you! It didn't seem to work so I did it again but I restarted my PC before logging back in and that time it worked. I'm not sure specifically what did the trick but it's sorted now.

I shall sacrifice many yaks and burn many lego bricks so that this doesn't happen again.

Better pour some extra oil on the hardware for the machine spirits.
