Unfortunately not a lot of people play DKoK because it has a reputation of being a bottom tier army. That plus it's an expensive army to start up. I too have just recently started a Krieg army and have asked a few questions about them and just like you I got no responses from this board.
I'd like to help you but I'm going with a siege army so my setup and tactics would be different then yours. The only real advice I can think of is maybe cut a bit back on the death riders because from the bat reps I've seen even fully decked out death riders get murdered quickly. Instead maybe put some of those points into like you said earthshaker cannons because they can shoot anything indirectly at distance and directly if your opponent gets in close.

Sorry wish I could help more but like I said I'm new and still learning too.

Yeah, its a shame, trying to get help with this is a real pain. I might concider switching death riders to earthshakers, but ive read some people claiming death riders are infact superior to other infantry/fast attack units. Plus they look super cool.

Agreed the death riders look absolutely bad ass. As for there effectiveness again I honestly can't say because I've never used them. In fact my death korp army is sitting in a box in my room awaiting to be assembled and painted. The only reason I have my doubts about them is from a few YouTube videos I've seen where 99% of the time they get wiped out before the end of the 2nd turn.
From what I've seen with a Krieg army the purpose of infantry and the death riders is to run forward and get killed while the big guns in the back blow up the enemy, and if the infantry or riders kill something well that's just a little bonus.

Yeah, good point. Although it appears only Siege Regiment list is allowed to rock earthshaker cannons with artillery carriage, but i can instead pick basilisk artillery tanks, which have the same gun, but are mobile and more expensive. (125 points). Another option would be taking imperial bombards, but i heard they have a long ass reload time. Now if i would pick any of those i get a feeling i should also have rapier laser destroyers to defend them, from deepstrikers and such, but then i might as well start steering towards the siege regiment list. Decisions, decisions...

Wow your painting skills are totally awesome!

I dont know much about dkok rules so feel free to say if I am missing something from the list.

For friendly games based on a fluff theme your list will be great. This imho is how 40k should be played!!

However as a retired guard player, for other games I would say you need more fearless bodies. You know what Stalin said. I think you have around 70 bodies? I would have had that many at 750 points. At 2000 points your opponent will be packing some serious firepower. To be honest I can see this list getting mercilessly and gleefully tabled by the unpainted eldar hordes.

The success I enjoyed playing guard revolved around large numbers of conscripts or combined squads accompanied by a commissar or priest clogging up the midfield. These guys in big numbers are very hard for an opponent to remove. They can also score objectives and bring a bit of pain. Backed up with some squads camping the backfield and maybe some arty hiding behind cover. Oh and the more Orders the better. Win by points, table control and attrition ^^

Your cavalry can work nicely hiding in cover near arty, ready to charge any baddies that drop in. Cavalry do not "tank" well leading the charge - unlike the mighty conscripts.

My attempts at mechvets ended badly.

I have seen LRBT tank lists come dead last at tourneys.

My 2 cents hope it helps

Thanks scommy, been on a hiatus so i havent been able to reply, great points! As for arty, ill field 4 quad mortars to pin down enemy squads, and ill see what i can do about getting more infantry on the field. Got some much needed help from a friendly user, and revised the list a little bit. In the end it seems to come down whether i want to field death riders or the LR executioners, im playing mostly against SM, so i need something big to bring down his termies, dreads and knight titans.

I could drop the avenger strike fighter for more troops, but my roommate has no AA or aircrafts, so i would have air superiority.

HQ
Death Korps Company Command Squad [122pts]
2x vets with meltagun, warlord, regimental standard

Elites
2xDeath Korps Combat Engineer Squad [177pts]

Troops
3x Death Korps Grenadier Storm Squad [235pts]
7x Grenadier, 2x Grenadier with Plasma Gun, Storm Chimera /w dozer blade, Watchmaster w/ Melta bombs and bolt pistol

Heavy Support
Death Korps Field Artillery Battery [276pts]
8x Additional Crew, 4x Heavy Quad Launcher

Death Korps Leman Russ Tank Squadron [390pts]
2x Executioner, dozer blade

So when I use my DKoK assault brigade, I try to take advantage of 3 things, Respawning infantry, forward command tanks, and the order that gives my lasguns assault 2.

When I run a Forward command tank, I run a vanquisher and it has never let me down. And the Kerigers are good in CC. Walk you're blobs up and ignore your losses. Once you lose a platoon, bring it back on. Most army's have trouble shooting off 80+ guardsman and killing all my Tanks/arty

Thanks Kinratha! Did some changes and made both russes vanquishers and made one a forward command tank, also adding sponsons for both. A good point about putting out more meat on the table (infantry platoon) however id have to sacrifice the avenger strike fighter and sponsons and other upgrades from the tanks as well. Everything else in the list is at the moment as bare bones as i can make it, so not much room to sacrifice there.
