hi guys so one of my friends said that the chaos space marine formation raptor talon can get a rule called rendering on one of there Close Combat weapons. which would be great idea to uses on my other friend who plays alot of tanks. as it would let me to deep strike behind him and charge the same turn with this formation. e

the problem is i cant seem to find it anywhere and i asked my friend and he said his not sure but he read this on the net somewhere awhile ago.

can anyone confirm if his right and where i might find it if he is?

Nope... Don't think so.

Lightning claws have shred? Perhaps that's what is meant.

I can think of a very convoluted way to give the Raptors in the Raptor Talon formation the Rending rule which is to have them go Mark of Nurgle to take the Icon of Despair and then let a chaos vehicle have the Vessel of Dhornurgh legacy as that gives units that are with 6" of it Rending & Gets Hot on their CCW while the unit has the Icon of Despair

This is a lot of hopes to jump through and isn't very good because you have to keep the vehicle super close to them and keep it alive to give them the bonus

Night Lords have relic pair of lightning claws which have Rending.

Some Tzeentch Daemons can cast misfortune to make all attacks against thier target Rending.

I think the only formation that gives rending is the tormented, which has a prince and possessed and even then only the possessed gain rending. Otherwise You'd have to hand hout psychic powers or do what CrownAxe proposed. It's not that difficult in that you can put the legacy on a fire raptor for instance and deepstrike that as well, but it's not worth all that trouble and paying for an otherwise pointless banner.
