I have a couple of Mk II two player boxes and some older cardless models. I have decided to bring two factions up to Mk III and play them. I searched, but couldn't find any thread newer than 2015 on the subject. I would like to know if the new books have all of the stats from the cards. In other words, if I buy the brand new books for Menoth and Orboros will I be good to go or will I still need the Mk. III cards too?

Thank you very much,
Dave

I think they are just background, painting guides, etc. Might be rules for the new models but I am not sure.

You can down load new rules and the updated cards from the link below.

Addendum: The cards in that link are cards that have been updated/changed in errata since the launch of Mk.III, not the full selection of cards. PP has said they're going to try and distribute all cards free (and Battlecollege is allowed to post specific stats now), but I haven't seen any more details on the subject.

Personally I'd recommend moving digital; with War Room you can't lose cards, you don't need to carry them around, and when an errata hits they update your cards for you rather than needing to go to the website and print out new ones.

The Forces books contain all of the rules for the casters and some of the essential bread and butter kind of stuff for the factions (choir, krielstone, etc). They are in no way a card replacement.

As Rake said though, go digital if you can.

The Circle book has stats for everything that changed from Mk2 to Mk3, so has the majority, assuming the other faction books are likewise, plus its handy having lots of fluff in one place

The faction books aren't completely complete. 90% of the
faction is there, including all of the warcasters, but a few odd
units were left out to be put into the first theme force books.

This also hints at what the next books will feature.

I believe some of the Exemplar stuff is absent from the Menoth
book, and the Circle book doesn't have Tharn. For trolls it looks
like Northkin are next as Fire Eaters are missing

PP is heavily incentivizing people to use warroom. Otherwise you need to purchase a mk3 faction deck and then print out all the errata'd cards. And they are eventually going to stop making physical cards all together, and they'll let you print out physical cards from a PDF they will eventually put on their website.

TLR Get Warroom2. Its pretty cheap, and has tons of useful features. And they've pretty much eliminated all the old bugs that the original app had.

Yeah, if you're Skorne, don't bother with the card box... Just saying.

Okay, Thanks everybody. I'll get the cards instead of the book. Warroom would be great if I had an iPad or an iPhone, but I don't. I still live by big hulking desk top PCs that can run CAD programs and the like. Both my phone and Kindle are too old and basic to run it. I'll just get the faction decks.

Thanks again.

War Room 2 runs on my inexpensive Android tablet just fine. Grab something second hand if you want to save a bit more.

Yeah. You can easily get an android emulator and run warroom off of just about any tablet.
