This came up in a game the other day.

Given the following situation: A Lord of Change was flying, periled in the Psychic phase, then came crashing down. Shooting phase occurred as normal. When it came to the assault phase the question was asked if the LoC could now assault.

Looking at the rules we could only find a restriction on assaults after the FMC chose to change flight modes. So it doesn't seem that it should be allowed, but we couldn't find a similar restriction being applied when it crashed.

Thoughts?

If the FMC changes flight modes during its turn it cannot charge. It doesnt matter if that is voluntary or involuntary. So no.

As far as I know and have seen it played is that it depends on whose turn it comes down on. If your enemy causes it to crash in their turn then in your turn you can then charge. If it goes down in your phase then you cannot charge regardless of what made it fall.

Exactly this.

Turn in the rules always refers to player turn unless otherwise specified. So if he comes down on his own turn, he cannot charge. If he comes down on the opponents turn he will be able to charge.
