A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

Haven't seen this posted yet, been popping up on my Facebook feed...

UPDATE: Kickstarter page is up here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/69613072/tombstone-old-west-tabletop-game-and-miniatures-in?ref=nav_search

https://www.blackscorpionminiatures.com/index.php

Over the next couple of weeks we're going to start showing the previews for the Tombstone kickstarter. We expect to launch on April 5th, over the next couple of weeks I'll be previewing the new miniatures.. all 110 of them over 7 factions! Probably a faction every few days. Also previews from the book, details about the game and kickstarter etc.. Tombstone is an old west skirmish game, rulebook (available in English, Spanish, German and French) and miniatures launched via Kickstarter. For now I've added some photos of the scenery we used for scenic shots for the book and some play testing. I'm extremely proud of the work that has gone into this project and book and can't wait to share it with you.

One of the best places to keep track of the progress is our Facebook page

We'll also post updates here. The Tombstone page down the left hand column will have updates.

20th March- Tombstone Kickstarter preview 1 of 7: Outlaws
The first previews of our seven factions are the Outlaws. Each gang type consists of one leader, mounted and unmounted, a deputy, a 3x four figure packs (15 models total). There are four different horse types which will also be available separately.

Spoiler:

22nd March- Tombstone Kickstarter preview 2 of 7: Natives.
We're pleased to preview the Natives faction for Tombstone, more coming soon.

Spoiler:

24th March- Tombstone Kickstarter preview 3 of 7: Mexicans.
We've now added previews of the Mexicans! They follow the same format as the other factions.

Spoiler:

Pablo the donkey is a special character and will be an add on during the campaign.

Some add ons and extras...
Spoiler:
Incident on Grand st. was briefly released a while a back but was always intended as an add on for the campaign. It was one of the most popular sets we've ever released. Very useful as an objective marker it can used with a few of the scenarios within the Tombstone book.

'Have a go hero'

Hostage

Rambler and Humphrey the dog was also briefly available in the past and will be an add on. Civilian models are always very popular so this was an addition to the three civilian sets we alreday have online. One piece model.

Vulture. This will be an add on but may also be a free bonus model for certain pledge levels. Other extras will include the Horse set, weapon sprue and certain characters.

27th March: Tombstone Kicklstarter preview 4 of 7: 7th Cavalry.

The 7th Cavalry in Tombstone don't form a strict army unit, but rather a bunch of skirmish troopers that have formed togther to help a cause, on a unique mission or perhaps a crew of deserters out for their own gains. The leader can be used as a generic Captain or Custer himself who is a special character in the book.

Spoiler:

28th March: Tombstone Kickstarter preview 5 of 7: Lawmen

Spoiler:

30th March: Tombstone Kickstarter preview 6 of 7: Undead.

The Undead faction have been added! The undead/zombie fantasy side is an option in Tombstone, for those who want to play traditional games this is not a problem. The Undead leader may at some point get his own 'undead horse', for now he rides one of the generic ones. The Terrors pack has been previously released, it was an early test pack to see of there was interest in Undead cowboys, there was and they now form part of the faction.

Spoiler:

2nd April: Tombstone Kickstarter preview 7 of 7: Females

Our final miniatures update, (book updates coming tomorrow!) The females don't have their own 'faction' in the book, they can be added as and where you please. Of course you can form an all female posse if you like, just use another faction type (such as outlaws) as the roster

I'm definitely going to watch this one. Most of my Wild West figures are Black Scorpion.

This will likely be my first Kickstarter. I've purchased some of their current Tombstone line and the miniatures are great. I'm interested to find out more about the skirmish rules they are realeasing.

I have a lot of their pirate and WW models - mostly sadly unpainted but they are really good.

The models pictured look good - but feeling the lack of ladies!

One of the factions will be female gunfighters.

Their existing female gunfighters are what my daughter uses when we play Fistful of Lead. A game report with pictures from one of those sessions: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/698568.page

If the rest of the range has minis as characterful as fat mexican riding a donkey swigging on a bottle of beer I think ill back this. Helps that I already have a table full of wild west terrain that'll be great for this too.

You may be thinking of an upcoming expansion for Dead Man's Hand.

I have loads of Black Scorpion cowboys and pirates. Very nice stuff - but very much "true 32" so they don't work with Foundry, DMH, etc.

Look up at the picture I posted showing what will be included in the KS. It clearly states Undead/Zombie Cowboys.

These look fantastic! It does drive me nuts when sculptors put the arrow on the wrong side of the bow though. :(

There is no 'wrong' side of the bow ...

For traditional American Plains Indian archery, there most certainly is. And using Lars Andersen as a historical source is like using Alex Jones as a news source.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajxNlwmcpD0

There is no doubt that there are some types of bows (Mongol and Japanese) that have the arrows on the other side of the bow, but virtually all Native American and European bows are designed to have the arrow on the left side of the bow if the shooter is right handed.

Again, I am loving these models and am looking forward to jumping in on this Kickstarter!

Does anyone happen to know how Black Scorpion's figures scale up to the ones from Shadows of Brimstone, Malifaux, or Wild West Exodus? If these are comparable, I may need to back it. If nothing else, I need the old coot and his dog and the fat, drunk guy on the donkey.

I don't own any of those mentioned ranges - but they're 32mm "heroic' GW sized models. They're not full on 35mm like WWE though. They're far larger than, say, Artizan or Foundry or any of the older 80's-90's design waves.

The Black Scorpion figures are a little bit smaller than the Brimstone ones, but far better than any other 3rd party stuff around. There are some nice comparison shots on http://miniatyrmannen.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/black-scorpion-vs-brimstone-comparison.html

I asked the creator if he was going to make a pledge level or whatever for the SoB audience, and he said NOPE, aside from backers being able to order figures individually. Pretty irritating that a creator does all this work, then decides to not make money - and therefore doesn't reach SG's -- by ignoring a possible audience.
