On a surly Warboar, leading the Waaagh!

If this happens, I think he'd be a great 'Cable'.

I don't understand. Cable was cast way back in Avatar. Why did they switch him out with Zod?

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Didn't he play Zod? This could cause problems when my Superman/Deadpool crossover fanfic gets the big budget treatment.

awe, I was really hoping for Ron Perlman.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

As long as they don't cast Ryan Reynolds. Man he was terrible in Green Lantern and the less said about Origins:Wolverine the better.....

Yea not me. I met Pearlman at a comicon some years ago and the guy is a total douche bag. Since then I just cant stand seeing him on screen.

Michael Shannon thou, he could be pretty good as Cable, loved him in Iceman and liked liked him as Zod. Just hope his serious actting meshes well with how silly Deadpool will be

So, it's been decided. Josh Brolin got the role. He's also Thanos. So he's playing evil space god and Nu Age Jesus both in Marvel movies (even if one group is from Fox). I'm not familiar enough with his work to feel strongly one way or the other about this decision, but I am disappointed my choice didn't get the part (Stephen Lang; the bad guy from Avatar).

He, yeah Lang would have been a great fit for a gritty cable. Brolin is okay. He can chew some scenery.

Seriously, Steven Lang literally looks like Cable, if a bit less beefy. Remember the time travel show on Fox, with the dinosaurs? He was basically the only worthwhile character.

Like I said...I'm blown away they didn't cast Cable's real-life mirror when he was already interested in the role. It's like casting a blonde as Mary Jane and a redhead as Gwen Stacy!

Indeed. I usually don't get to into casting decisions but I had hoped for Lang as well.

He would have been amazing! My pick was Bruce Campbell. Imagine him and Ryan Reynolds arguing.

While I do love The Chin, he doesn't strike me as a Cable kind of guy.

And as much as I like Perlman as an actor, he is one helluvan ugly mook!

Cable isn't really all about "hilarity". That's Wade's schtick. Campbell wouldn't feel like a good fit to me. His straightforwardness mixed with Wade's insanity is what creates the wacky buddy cop thing.
