Allegedly confirmed at the Heresy Throne of Skulls - no more resin Thunderhawks will be made.....

I'd say 85% chance replaced in plastic, 15% there's a new resin version coming.....

Not surprising, the resin one is looking fairly small these days compared to more recent plastic kits and the original masters have probably been long worn out/damaged to make new moulds.

Says in the article that they won't be stocking the thunderhawk in the FW store anymore, from that alone I highly doubt that the (almost inevitable) new one will be resin. Also from what I recall the plastic molds are much easier to maintain than resin ones, which is another point in favour of it being plastic and let's not not forget the WHTV video as well.
I hope they sell them in shipping boxes with plastic thunderhawk scrawled on the side

Nice. If a plastic one appears, I'm hoping to see a transporter conversion. Always wanted one of those...

If a plastic one comes up we'll be in a position where we don't know if GW are trolling us or not from one day to the next.

Depending on the price and size I'd be tempted to pick up a plastic Thunderhawk. I don't find resin a desirable material for such a model.

Cool for those who have always wanted one, although I cant say a super heavy flyer has ever been on my wish list. Personally if I had the pick of big SM kits from FW to remake in plastic, I'd go for the Spartan or the Fellblade and there variants.

I doubt it will be a new resin one. They said the last resin thunderhawk had been sold.

FW has been going on about retiring the older flyer models, as they are a bitch to build and warp very easily during casting.

The nerd-rage generated by a plastic Thunderhawk showing up BEFORE plastic sisters of battle should be enough to power a city for a full day.

Should we all get our GW-sky-is-falling helmets on? Or renew the X-Files to figure this all out?!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

There was always that skit that Warhammer TV did a few days ago is pretty solid evidence that the plastic Thunderhawk is coming (for those who don't know, there was a cardboard box labelled "Plastic Thunderhawk"). I mean the last time that happened, Magnus was "announced".

Are people really using the video in which the new deep strike rules were portrayed as being smashing a Drop Pod on the table as evidence of anything?

I admit them retiring the resin moulds is pretty convincing though, and interesting. I've always preferred the Storm Eagle though.

Did anyone identify the pile of sprues from the video? Is it possible they were the Thunderhawk hidden in plain sight but they expected it to be ignored due to the "troll" box?

Yes, because Marines just need yet another toy whilst SoB and IG do without any modern kits (and in the SoB's case any plastic kits).

Free from GW's tyranny and the hobby is looking better for it

I purely mentioned it because the last time it happened, Magnus turned up. I still wouldn't base the rumour off of it, but it's evidence so take it or leave it.

Dunno about the sprues but if you pause the video at the right monent you can see the edge of something plastic poking over the flaps on the box.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

The best thing evar would be if it was retconned that the Adepta Sororitas had access to Thunderhawks, and the new plastic Thunderhawk came in a boxed set with new plastic Sisters. Then it will turn out to be covered in Sisters iconography that is a real PITA to remove.

plastic thunderhawks have been nearly at the top of the over all player wish list for awhile now. if GW put them out I'd honestly not blame them, a big, expensive highly demanded centerpeice for your most popular armies? it's kind of a no brainer.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Considering GW are at eight(ten if you count Fallen and Khorne demonkin) SM/CSM 40k factions so far, with another on the way. I wouldn't be surprised to see it useable by the Talons of the Emperor and SoB as well. Then there's the rumoured "Nu-marines" on the horizon. On top of that there's the 30k setting and there are certainly plenty of armies it could find a home in.
