Could I take something like this in the castellan's detachment ?

If I cant..can I take Celestine and Shen as additional HQs in a Grand Convocation Detachment ?

Have you read the book? The book clearly answers these questions, and Dakka is not a replacement for reading the book.

Cawl is not listed in the Castellan's detachment HQ list. What makes you think/wonder if you can take him in it?

As alextroy says, the book tells you which Detachments Cawl and Celestine can be taken in, and the Castellans of the Imperium Detachment tells you which units can you be taken in it.

My apologies I can't see the lack of clarity.

I recognize that Cawl wasn't listed.. however I wasn't clear if the HQ requirements ment I had to take a minimum of at least one in the list and then I could go outside of it to Include Cawl since it mentions he can be included in any CAD or allied detatchement of the imperium.

I also was wondering if Shen could be taken since forgeworld says he replaces any SM Captain.

Personally I didn't think Cawl could be added to the list and I wasn't clear if Shen would either.

Cawl can be added to any CAD or Allied detachment. A Castellan's Detachment is not a CAD nor an Allied Detachment (those are specifically the things shown on page 122 of the main rulebook).

what about Shen ? would he be able to get in there as replacement Capt ?

If you re-read the PDF you'll note he does not replace a Captain, and is simply an HQ choice.

Until FW come out with a newer version of the PDFs saying that he may replace a captain from any formation of Angel of Death or Castellans then I think not.
