Hi there and welcome to the GF's Workshop, where you'll see an almost newbie get through a spiral of dispair in order to get his minis as decent as possible!

Right now I'm going small and making an urban Cadian IG kill team, which is gonna be based on this thread's list. If you feel a bit lazy, here's the list, anyway:

Veteran Squad with Chimera DT
- Grenadiers (4+ armor) doctrine
- Sergeant/leader with power fist (probably should've done power axe and gotten krak grenades, but he's gibbed several MEQs in CC )
- Veteran with meltagun (Specialist, Eagle Eye = 18" range)
- Veteran with plasma gun (Specialist, Preferred Enemy)
- Veteran Weapons Team with autocannon (Specialist, Relentless)
- Chimera armed with multilaser and hull-mounted heavy flamer

The first thing I've nearly finished is the Chimera.

It's been some time since I gave it its base color, so I had to repaint it, which gave me an oportunity to use a better tone of grey (first time I used a random grey from my father's collection, now I've used Mechanicus Standard Grey). I've painted the winged skulls the same way as the Wyvern/Hydra's box set (white with a copper color in the upper line) and I have to say I'm quite happy about the result. I've also added some rust in the parts I saw fit and some Tiphus Corrosion for hte rivets and the like (Although I haven't been able to make a photo where those details could be clearly visible).
As you can see, it's pretty much done, except for the last laser rifle, which just isn't there. Don't worry, the other side has two of them missing, so the hole won't have any feeling of loneliness Jokes aside, I'll probably put some bags or random miscellanea to cover the holes but that should be it.

Hi there folks! Today I've finished with the chimera's accessories to hide the lasgun array's holes, so I could consider the transport done. I've had some problem with the bags that I was going to put, since they were too small to hide the holes and I had to look into my father's junk box to search for some convenient pieces. Already found them and I quite like the result. I've also primed all the soldiers except the HWT. I had be Sector Imperialis 25mm bases for the guardsmen, but I don't have the 60mm ones, so I have to make the standard base look smimilar to them with some plasticard. Then I'll put the autocannon and the guardsmen (already done and witing for the base) and I'll prime it so I can paint them all together.

I've had a little problem with my phone's camera, and I've been waiting to show you my progress until I had it repaired, but it seems it'll take longer than expected, so I'll show you the photos whenever I can.

As a side note, the autocannon I'm going to use is a non-GW one and made out of resin. After getting so used to the glue that melts plastic together, I'm having quite a difficult time getting used to cyanoacrylate. But well, that is the way of the custom wargamer, it seems

Looking good so far. I like the subtle weathering look around the bolts and the corners.

Hi there! So now that I'm able to take some photos I've decided to show you how my chimera has turned out:

The miscellanea I attached seems to go well on the Chimera, although it's a bit shiny for my liking. But well, it's turned out better than expected.

Also, I was just working on the HWT until the Khornate helped me bless the blood god with a bloody (in both senses) cut in the finger with the scalpel, so I'll continue tomorrow. Here's the progress os far:

It's just the other guy and the rifle the other one's hand and that should be about it, ready for priming.

I really put a lot of effort into those details, thanks!

Where did you get the stowage for the Chimera. It looks great.

Awesome weapons team. The heavy weapons look way better in a carriage like that. They are way to big for a pitiful guardsman to be lugging about.

Glory is fleeting, but obscurity lasts forever.

Considering also your duty as a warrior you should not waver. Because there is nothing more auspicious for a warrior than a righteous war.

My father has been into modelism for decades, and he's got a huge amount of spare pieces from multiple sets. The stowage comes from it

Yeah, that's why I boguht this one instead of using the standard one. It feels more realistic, and a bit more badass too

Thanks man!
Nope, it's from Anvil Industries. I saw that they released a bunch of bits suitable for the Imperial Guard, and after seeing the HWT they have, I thought of giving them a try
