Hey everyone.

So im looking for a my next imperial ship purchase and im not sure what to get.
I am still relatively new to x-wing, and currently own an Interceptor, Defender, Striker and the 2 ties that cone with the base game.

Id like my next purchade to have something worthy inside be it a ship or useful pilot skills or upgrades.

Cheers !

Maybe try a large base ship. The Decimator can be good paired with what you already have. Alternatively i find the Firespray fun to fly.

Maybe a big base ship, I think the Upsilon has a good options in the box, likewise the Decimator can be scary as its an Imperial turret, the Lambda sadly needs Palpatine to function well so best avoided

Small ship wise the TIE/SF or TIE Prototype can be fun

If you got money to burn I like the Gozanti. It gets you two more tie fighters, some good pilots, a fun campaign to play with friends, and some fun cards.

If you're on a budget. Another interceptor or Imperial Aces is great. The TIE/SF is a nice one too. Deci is love, and I'm eagerly looking forward to the new Tie Aggressor.

Imperial Veterans, for a second TIE defender and the upgrades that make them work. Alternatively, the TIE/fo expansion gives you Omega Leader and the juke + comm relay combo, one of the best endgame threats in a single easy to buy package.

Strongly disagree, unless you know that your local community likes Epic games. The Gozanti can't be used in standard games, and hardly anyone plays Epic or the (very often unbalanced) missions that come with Epic ships. And the normal game cards you get are mediocre at best, with Kallus being one of the few that sees any meaningful play. It's a complete waste of money that you should only be considering once you've got a nice collection established and can afford to spend your limited money on a desk ornament.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Mine likes running missions that use an epic ship and HotAC uses the Rebel Transport a lot too for example. But anyways, that's why I said if you had money to burn.

Tie Advanced for Vader, or Tie Phantom for Whisper.

I will second the vote for a Decimator.

IMP Vets is a good box too, with Crack Shot and the Tie Defender Cards. You could play Vessary with tractor Beam and the D Title.

The Tie SF is ok to fly a big point sink IMHO. Could wait for the Tie Aggressor for some TLT action!

Since you have a limited number of ships currently, I'd go for the Decimator.

You could field a base model Decimator, both TIE's, Striker and Interceptor in one list.

I'm not prejudiced, I hate everyone equally

Interesting that there is so little love for the firespray. What made it go out of favour?

Bad greens, suboptimal upgrades and pilots, and no turret. I think.

Emphasis on the Pilots. It seems reasonably popular for Scum, whose pilots have much more interesting abilities.

Yeah, the scum versions are better, it doesn't have a 360, only the auxiliary arc which is still nice, Emon is PS5 and slings bombs with the straight 3 or hard 3s, and no EPT, but it's fun. Scarlet rolls an extra die when firing out the aux arc, and Boba rerolls one die for every enemy ship at range 1, which is stupid fun if you're taking APTs as I did once with expertise. Not cheap, but hilariously fun.

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

Thanks for all the advise everyone.

Ive gone for firespray, only because its one of my faves and has VI in.

The imperial veterans box as i love the defenders and then the tie advanced to mess around with.

The decimator will be next month along with some rebels which i may ask for help them too !

Fair enough. The pilots are a bit stinky for the Empire i suppose. However I have had quite good fun running it as a missile boat with Trellix, clusters, title, guidance chips and a random crew.

Yeah, but for 2 points more Scum can run a Mando Merc with either Predator or Dengar, leaving a choice of either random crew or EPT, as well as an Illicit slot (GLitterstims, anyone?).

I think the Imp Firesprays suffer from being early wave design when the 'value' of abilitys, stat lines, etc hadn't quite settled, none of them are bad bad it's just they are over-costed by 2-3 points

More than likely, it's what, a wave 2 ship I think?

It is. With the Millenium Falcon, they were the first 2 large base ships.

nope starting anything. just hate the implied exclusiveness of not using epic ships in standard play.

Ok my friends, that time has come again.

I have hit a brick wall as to what I should purchase next, and last time your ideas were really helpful to me !
So this time round I'm looking at maybe 1 rebel and 1 Imperial ship.

My current collection below, has all the cards that come with them,

Rebel:
A Wing,
Arc 170
B wing,
1 T70,
Heroes of the Resistance,
U-wing,
Starter box X wing.

Imperial,
Slave 1
Tie advanced,
Starter Tie's,
Defender,
Striker,
Phantom,
veterans.
Interceptor

What are your thoughts on what would be a good next purchase, with the current collection I have, for each faction ?

Much love
Wolf

*Edit* Oops my bad forgot to put in the Interceptor.

A TIE F/O. You'll unlock Omega Leader with that one blister, which is a handy pocket ace. He's good in the end game. The TIE Adv Prototype is also fun, the Inquisitor is a solid choice.

Soontir Fel's learning curve is hard on some players, but once mastered, he can be quite a powerful asset. (TIE Interceptor)

Oh and if your meta is punctilious about card possession, then you can't go wrong with the Autothrusters expansion pack. It comes with a StarViper.

A Tie/sf, the special forces Tie is surprisingly good and can be kitted out in various ways.

For Rebels I'd say a K-wing but good luck finding one of those. Maybe a HWK-290?

Upsilon shuttle and/or decimator would be good for imperial lists...

Rebel aces could also be a good choice... more pilots to choose from
