So I just had a game with this list versus quite a strong Stormcast list.
It ended up being quite a close and fun match, with only a couple of units left on the board but points went to the Stormcast player.
So, the game:
Unfortunately, my opponent got first turn and teleported a unit of Judicators and his unit of Prosecutors in. The Prosecutors meant he could bring his Retributors and Decimators in as close as he wanted to my units. The Judicators, Prosecutors and Retributors (these names are as bad as Khorne names to keep up with haha), all destroyed the two priests and the Decimators obliterated the bloodreavers. So I didn't get to try out the priests and their new prayers that could be re-rolled for my battalion. Bugger.
The Brass stampede was both good and bad. The getting off mortal wounds on the charge without having to roll was really nice, as well as the +3" to charge distance for any units being wiped. So the battalion bonuses were certainly worth their points. The mortal wounds alone destroyed a unit of Liberators. However I found the actual attacks from the Juggernaughts to be somewhat lacking and they got slowed right down and sort of just took up space as the opponent chewed through them with his Judicators and Liberators.
The Lord with his artefact, the Mark of the Destroyer, was incredible and would have done a lot better had he been in a better situation. He alone munched through 2 Units of Liberators and a unit of Judicators before he was brought down.
Tithe points were really handy. I didn't expect the buffs to come in often but they did and being able to move the Secrator in the hero faze then open his portal in the same faze was a god send halfway through the match when everything had moved up the board a little too far. I can certainly see a few shenanigans being pulled off with them and they're a really needed addition to the army.
The Wrathmongers were great as expected, mostly buffing my dudes and getting killed to use my opponent against himself haha.
I was doing quite well up until the end when his Celestant on Dracoth and Castelant buffed up the wazoo came in. With all the buffs on the Celestant and the +1 save aura the Celestant was putting out, his Celestant had a 2+, re-rollable save where re-rolling and passing caused mortal wounds, save rolls of 6's healed him, he got a crazy amount of attacks that caused mortal wounds on 6's and the Dracoth did -3 rend on 6's along with the
d6 attacks. Needless to say, he was unstoppable and just strode through my ranks like butter, single handedly devouring them and giving Khorne a bigger hardon than any of my own men could. I needed the priests to dish out mortal wounds to him but they were dead
It ended on round 5 with only a few models on both sides left but he had killed more points worth than me so he won. Still, it was a really close and fun game. We're having a rematch tomorrow so if you want to hear how that goes I can post it up here
