I think I've read that GW has changed some of the abilities on Warscrolls and changed some point costs recently.

If they're going to do this between paper publications (which is a good thing instead of having to wait a publishing cycle to adjust the game) why would anyone want to buy a paper version of a battle tome except to see nice photos and read fluff?

The only time I heard about points cost adjustments it was people talking about them testing out the changes coming in the new General's Handbook.

A lot of the legacy models' rules were changed from the first iteration of the AoS pdfs to be less 'jokey' as well,but that was during the dark times... before the General's Handbook showed us the Way.

Beyond that, I would expect any changes to a unit written in a physical boom will be documented in the FAQs as errata. So someone who owns the physical book can print those off and have a physical book present.

As for why some people would prefer them... I still find it a pain to flip through the reading interface of the AoS app, and I still remember when it would just up and decide to never load certain warscrolls until you restarted the app.
