Yeah, I'd probably edit the title to say "Teaser" not 'Trailer'

Yeah that is what interests me most, TFA was a rehash of ideas done to death already. And Rogue One...well we knew how that was going to turn out before even going in to see it. I'm looking forward to seeing these characters become more fleshed out...hopefully Poe gets more screentime in this one...

Fingers crossed this will lead to some new avenues for the force. If not then I hope its as good as R1 was.

Is that Luke's voice in the beginning? It nice to hear new dialogue from him finally.

TFA trailer with his voice was taken from RotJ.

Also, it looks like we get a bit more from the flash back of the destruction of his Jedi temple.

problem is the Jedi got it wrong all along, they thought Anakin was to make the Jedi Stronger, but he was not, he was only to bring balance where neither side is stronger but equal.

They have Falcon style cockpit windows at the front and ball turrets on the bottom of the "wing". I'm thinking there more a Corvette sized riff on the old Nebulon B design

That is not how the force is balanced.

Sith bring unbalance by how they use the force and the ends to which they strive. It is not a seesaw with the Jedi on one side and Sith on the other. Balance in the force comes from the natural progression of life in the galaxy. The largest disturbances we are shown in the series is the massacre of the jedi (only shown felt by Yoda) and the destruction of Alderaan (shown felt by Kenobi). Both are cases of huge loss of life and are also a direct result of Sith actions and mindset in which power is to be taken and used to gain more power.

A more accurate depiction of the effect on the force of the two orders (Jedi and Sith) would be the Sith standing on one end whilst the Jedi are largely clustered around the middle, leaving the opposite end empty and so the seesaw naturally tips towards the Sith. With a large number of Jedi, the effect is minor. With a very small number of Jedi, the effect is very large.

Inside Yvraine

- The Not-Rebellion is in hiding on some remote planet from the Not-Empire after they successfully destroyed the Not-Empire's Not-Death Star in the climax of the last movie.

- The Not-Empire is out for blood and is hunting the Not-Rebellion, eventually finding them on this remote planet.

- The Not-Rebellion uses Not-Snow Speeders to fight the Not-Empire's Not-AT-AT's so that the Not-Rebels can escape.

- While the Not-Rebels are trying to escape the Not-Empire on one side of the galaxy, Rey is on the other side attempting to learn the force on an uninhabited planet from an old hermet Jedi who's seen better days.

- After years of hiding following a galactic tragedy that resulted in the destruction of the Jedi, this old hermit is jaded and cynical, contrasting sharply with the brash, idealistic Rey.

Yawn.

I'm pretty pumped about this and also amused by people that think a couple of out-of-context snippets of the movie have plotted out an entire story (even though it hasn't).

for there to be true balance there must not be Jedi and/or Sith, they are mutual and a part of each other, as long as one exists the other will exist, look at Kylo Ren a Sith who only exists because of the Jedi.

the universe, more pointedly the force will always balance things out, as long as Jedi exist, the Sith will exist.

As long as it is better than TFA (and it looks like it from the trailer), it should be good. I liked TFA okay, it was just so...samey compared to ANH.

You learn well from Darth Traya young one. She wanted a galaxy free of force users so that people could make their own fate. I much believe the same thing, and getting rid of the force orders to have spawned from the original Jedi is the first step.

its more of a philosophical stance that there is no good without evil, and there is no evil without good.

I am betting that Luke discovered some secret long buried by the Jedi. Maybe it is something that caused Kylo to turn and Luke to "give up". Or at least appear to give up.

Maybe he has been searching for other answers and will train Rey not as a Jedi, but as something new that balances the force instead of focusing on the Light side.

She's a character from Knights of the Old Republic 2, who was trying to kill the Force as she felt it manipulated living things.

the force does manipulate things and tries to maintain a balance, it knew with Luke training a new generation of Jedi there would be an imbalance so it corrected it, then when Luke went into solitude and left only Kylo a very untrained Sith it created another imbalance so the force introduced Rey. the Force is a very manipulative thing. and as long as a Sith or a Jedi exist so will the other.

Citation needed. There is nothing to suggest that the force is any more manipulative than any form of natural variance. All living things interact with and contribute to the Force. That some people are more sensitive to it is no more the Force actively manipulating people than genetics actively manipulating us by making some people more intelligent. Again, balance in the force is maintained through the peaceful continuation of life in the galaxy. This is something the Jedi strive for and the Sith actively act to disrupt.

As long as living things exist, there will be the Force and as long as there is the Force there will be those who are more sensitive to it and learn to use it.
