Recently I saw the new Kharadon Overlords of Age of Sigmar and instantly loved the idea of steampunk dwarves and when I was looking at them I thought of the idea of these models representing an army in 40k as do look like they could fit in the setting. The rules I made are a very rough draft and since only three Warscrolls are out right now I could only make dataslate for those three and I only got the rules done and not any fluff.

For some background: I am thinking that after the Tyranids destroyed the Squat homeworld the surviving population was forced to become refugees. The Imperium was less then welcoming to the Abhumans and because of this the majority of them effectively deserted The Imperium to become independent. During this time they discovered an unique gas that can only be harvested from gas giants that can then be processed into an energy called Aether. This energy has allowed the Squats to create new and powerful technology. Mining the gas is very dangerous as the heat and pressure and poisonous gasses of a gas giant is very hazardous as well as the native fauna (here is a video by Carl Sagan showing some ideas of life on a gas giant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uakLB7Eni2E) so the miners need to be tough and battle ready. This has allowed even the basic workers to become pirates and mercenaries in times of need.

As of now, this pretty cool. Its still pretty limited in the unit selection (maybe the next wave of release for the Kharadon are going to give you more material to work with), but I would also invite you to check the Dispossessed since the Irondrakes can make good 40K units and the Runelord a decent base for a psyker.

In terms of rules, I would say your units and completly fine, but a little bit overpriced the Arkanaut Company could be 100 pts base considering they have very low leadership and not a extraordinary punch, while the Admiral could be 10 pts cheaper in my opinion. The Assault Frigate is more than fine.

When it comes to weapons, I like the idea of the assault pistols. Is the Heavy Sky Cannon supposed to have a blast effect? If not, I would say it needs a little buff a single shot autocannon that happens to be Ordonance is pretty bad in my opinon. The Volleygun would need to be either assault or salvo since at such range, it will almost never be used. The Carbine would benefit from the same treatment.

I hope you will produce some good fluff to go with the units, I would be interested in reading that. Congrats on the presentation too. You little PDF is quite nice (what software did you used to produce it?). Finally, since I am a shameless self-promoter, feel free to raid my Dvergar codex if you wish for some concepts. Both are dwarf based armies and could have some points in common (even if they are certainly going to be extremely different in execution, fluff and tabletop).

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments. I actually did have the idea of using those models so it is nice to have someone else think they could work as well.
I have always been bad at figuring out points so thanks for your help with that as well as your ideas on the weapons. It can only help to improve them.
The software I use to make PDFs is called CutePDF. I just use the free version.

This is great stuff, I'm digging the concept. It'd be great to see some inspiration from the classic Squat rules, probably wouldn't be hard to find... Stuff like the Living Ancestors have great lore, and attack trikes are cool, support robots were a thing too... I might also suggest to list the Mechanicum higher on their ally chart, in the lores they're decently tight.
