Why the extra cognis stubbers? Seems unneeded since the neutron you will be shooing at tanks and large monsters who don't care about the stubbers.

Are you allowing flyers at this level?

Maybe turn 1 Crawler to have the array so you have some anti air/skimmer.

Gone for the extra stubbers for a couple of reasons, I'm not using them primarily for vehicle killing as most players have 1 or less vehicles. I also found the stubbers were one of the few weapons with enough range to keep MEQ at arms length otherwise my vanguard would be taking alot of flak!

Flyers are allowed but I don't think anyone is bringing one. I did consider the array but with this in mind I figured it wouldn't be as useful.

I would not take Infiltrators. If you're going to take Arquebuses and Calivers, I would commit to making a shooting army.

How about something like this?

Skitarii Maniple (385)

10x Skitarii Vanguard - Omnispex, 1x Plasma Caliver; Refractor Field, Pater Radium Warlord
10x Skitarii Vanguard
Onager Dunewalker - Neutron Laser, 2x Cognis Heavy Stubber

Dominus Maniple (365)

Tech-Priest Dominus - The Scryerskull Perspicatus
5x Skitarii Ranger - Omnispex, 2x Transuranic Arquebus
Onager Dunewalker - Heavy Phosphor Blaster, Cognis Heavy Stubber

Skitarii Maniple gives you Scout and Crusader. It synergizes with your Dominus Maniple because you can attach the Dominus to your Warlord's unit (which gets Preferred Enemy to prevent Caliver overheating) and Scout him forward. With the Scryerskull Perspicatus, you can scry vehicles for your entire army to reroll penetration on. You can also designate any target within 18" of the Dominus for your Rangers and Dunewalker (who is packing a Heavy Phosphor Blaster) to reroll to-hits on. Oh, and to top it off, your Warlord can re-roll charges marked by Luminagen to use that Pater Radium.

Thanks for the input, really like the idea. I've been rocking the Dominus mainiple in 500 point games for a few months now and i love it. gonna have to get building more vanguard!

2 Dunecrawlers, both get IWND from formation, techpriest sits in the back and repairs them also, group vanguard with Cawl and march up, they have memento for AA.

3 Groups of rangers can just sit back and shoot at 36".

Might be too cheesy? Cawls melta will ruin any vehicles and should win pretty much any combat short of getting killed with a forceweapon.

thats interesting. I never thought of bringing Cawl to such a small points limit. I've not used him in anger yet, I've heard hes a pretty mean bit of kit.

Unless you take the Tech-Priest Enginseer in their special Servitor detachment, they don't count towards Canticles. I guess it is cheaper than a Dominus though. =(

Anyhow, in a GrandCon, you can put the Dunecrawlers together in one squadron. Unlike in other formations, they can split their fire thanks to Power of the Machine Spirit, which will allow you to fire one weapon (your main gun, obviously) at any target of your choosing. The only real downside is that they have to stay within 4" of each other to get their Field Harmonics bonus, so they will have to be kept centralized to maximize board control. Cawl is also useful for his special Canticles, which do affect Dunecrawlers, though it seems a bit cheesy (and risky) to play him at 750 points. Anyhow, if you go this route, definitely squeeze another Dunecrawler in for the 4++ invulnerable save.

If you have flyers in your meta, you might want to go for an Icarus Array. I don't have a Cawl in this list, so you can't get the Memento like in Cean's.

I mean, it is pretty unlikely people will have any force weapons, of if they do, not many, you can just hide behind the vanguards then, once Cawl gets his melee attacks he is going to destroy pretty much anything they try to pit him with. The risk is actually pretty low, he has toughness 6 so only force will get him.

Without him though, I am not sure how you would deal with vehicles, you would need to walk the crawlers to 9" in order to deal with AV 13+. So if you cut him then you will need arc rifles, id probably change 2 groups of the rangers to more vanguards and take 2 arc rifles.

Good points. But if you're playing 750 points and bringing Cawl, I would assume your opponents are going to prepare for him. If so, he's a quarter of your points...

I was thinking of relying on the Scryerskull, but yeah, maybe it's not worthwhile to give up Arc Rifles.

Yeah I think he's too many points to put in one basket for such a low points limit, especially as I noticed one of my opponents has a shiny new vindicator laser destroyer to play with. I feel hes going to capture its attention!
