My FLGS is looking to start a shadow war Armageddon campaign. I'll admit, I'm honestly not super interested in it, but I kind of want to give it a shot, if only to participate.
I haven't played a game, but am somewhat familiar with the rules and points costs.
So, my thought for a list is:
Boss nob, eavy armor, big choppa, kombi-skorcha - 250
6x boy with choppas - 420
6x yoofs with shootas - 330.
My thought process:
Given the fact that damn near everything has an ap/rend value, I kind of think armor is going to be nearly useless, so I only took it on the nob. Didn't bother with a klaw, as strength modifies your AP value, and I think a big choppa is going to pierce power armor just by being str 6/7.
Also, given the fact that cover provides to hit modifiers, and orks are BS2, it seems that shooting is also going to be nearly useless.
Also, given the fact that units can recover from being wounded, my strategy is to just flood the board with choppas and hope for the best.
I thought having SOME shooting might be nice, thus the yoofs, who aren't any worse with a gun.
I almost thought about using a big shoota, but it's like 250 points for a 3-shot gun at BS2, which is modifiable, and can run out of ammo, or explode, etc. Just seems like a lot of points for not a lot of krumpin.
But I don't really know much about the specific mechanics of the game or of campaigns Does this list have any massive glaring flaws? Do you need spanner boyz for anything in a campaign?
