...did GW just announce them and forget about them. It's been a while since they introduced new Death Guard models, and several new releases have come out since then (including an entirely new AoS army). Has anyone heard anything about the new Death Guard models or their release date?

Death Guard is prominently featured on the new website and in certain teaser images for 8th edition, so I would expect them to be released alongside 8th, if not in the new starter box.

would you rather it be covered in space wolf iconography?

personally I hope they avoid the heavy chapter specific iconography to allow anyone to use it. this'll be partiulcarly important as they're no longer gonna be able to rely on people buying it for the mini rules

I kind of hope the opposite. DV showed me how impressive and unique they can make chapter-specific models in a starter set. On the other hand, I can definitely see where you're coming from, and I wouldn't be disappointed at all if they were generic. As long as they're not Ultramarines

I hate to disappoint, but that's the way things seem to be leaning - there's been hints of some new lore from the Hand of Darkness series about Mortarion going after Macragge...
