Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Do we have any idea whether Forgeworld will be following Games Workshop in releasing updated free rules on all their models? We will get Imperial Armour for 8th ed or will all our FW models have to take to the shelves until new books come out?

All of the rumours I have seen so far are from GW and FW hasn't been mentioned, am I just being blind or have they really not said anything?

Thanks.

(I'm heading over to Warhammer World at the end of the week so I'm gonna try to get some answers if none have already been given)

They've said forgeworld will be releasing rules day 1, and will follow what GW is doing for rules in the future.

Check out the FAQ stream they just had this morning for some more info.

Forge World have already followed suit and put the Imperial Armour books up in the Last Chance to Buy section.

Once their 8th edition rules appear, that'll give you a preview of what the 8th edition-compatible Horus Heresy rules will be like.

I truly hope Fires Of Cyraxus doesn't get cancelled.

It can go a few ways I reckon:

a) It is released as a fluff book with unit datasheets that are also availble free online.

b) It is released as a normal IA style book with fluff and datasheets that aren't available for free online.

c) It is released as a fluff book with no unit information but formations/ narrative battle rules / campaign stuff

d) They cancel the whole thing.

A or B are the best, imo. I like having datasheets in paper format. Really, what I want is a giant, beautiful book full of cool stuff and rules, even if those rules are reprinted elsewhere.

Does this answer your question?

We will get Imperial Armour for 8th ed or will all our FW models have to take to the shelves until new books come out?

You've missed it...FW themselves didn't comment, but during the stream Pete Foley said that FW is intending on having day one downloads.

E) It's released as a campaign book with fluff, datasheets, formations, etc and the units themselves are available online for free.

Well... it seems like I've missed a lot, is there anywhere to rewatch the stream?

I'll be keen to see how they approach this with the FW books, I'm building a Minotaurs Badab war army with Asterion Moloc and as he stands he's apparently a beatstick and fun to use against marines with his Lysander-esq toughness. which made me think of all the other characters they have throughout which are quite central for some people to even start collecting an army of that flavour. How will they change it do you think? will they keep the stats but configure them to be workable for 8th or will they end up being quite generic? I'm not a huge player so I'm a little behind the times but I'd essentially love to still use Moloc to beat the crap out of my mates marines...... yep, that's pretty much it.

They'll have to reconfigure the stats any for 8th won't they? The only thing that will stay the same will be what equipment/rules they have and even that will have to be tossed about a bit to fit into 8th.

What I want to see is what they do with the Daemom Lords: AoS style monsters with 50 wounds and weapons which cause a total of 20 insta gibbing attacks? We can only hope!

So long as I get my Badab update I can't complain.

I don´t think 30k will go anywhere near to a reboot this year. They just don´t have the recources to rewrite the redbooks all at once. They will have plenty to do with the 40k stuff plus maybe Cyraxus. But I wouldn´t bet on that book.

30k: Taghmata Omnissiah(5,5k)
Ordo Reductor(4,5k)
Legio Cybernetica(WIP)

40k(Inactive): Adeptus Mechanicus(2,5k)

I imagine that 30k will be getting "AoSification" in the near future.

Asterion needs that block rule that the Watch Master and Custodes get.

Knowing my luck the Lucius Pod will get the axe.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

No it's covered, they are making a new mold of it.
