Ave dominus machina!

I wanted to make an project log but since I was having a blast I kind of forgot to ducument the process. Sorry.

I always liked the Tau poses and guns. They look kind of awesome but I don't like the idea of Tau. So I started thinking how to incorporate them into my Skitarii - by stealing all they guns and armour for the glory of Omnissiah!

The first two are the Vanguard Alpha and an Infiltrator/Ruststalker. I casted a customized version of Phosphor Pistol to save some time and money. Alpha as you can see, has a custom cog on both the shoulder pad and chestpiece. Tried to do the same for his weapon but failed (too small to make a decent looking cog). Feet of Vanguards are from Skitarii box same for head, I extended his barrels with some bits from radium carbine. Infiltrator aside from custom made bit has a head from Rangers (the one without hood) and two swords from Infiltrators/Ruststalkers box. Although you can't see the backpack I can atest you that it's there and it came from the same box.

Next ones are the 3 of each side by side - both radium carbines and arc rifles (I cut out the railgun's barrel). I need to digress a little - why does Tau kit come with 3 railguns while Skitarii come with only one arc rifle or plasma?

Last is the group shot of both Vanguards and Infiltrators.

Witness the full glory!
*ahem*
I made 9 Vanguards (one is lost to the void for some time before I figure out how to fix him) and 3 Infiltrators. The Alpha for Infiltrators has mechadendrite to make him stand out more.
They are ready for the paint in my opinion but what do you guys think?

While the Vanguards looks great and everything went fine, I think that the stealth suits are a tad too bulky to represent effectively a stealth assassin made for infilitration like the rustalkers.
I mean, a brick on wheels will be always a brick and never a car...
BUT, and this is important, if those suits rock your boat then keep going.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Hmmm, its a bit hard to see the fine details of the models. I'd suggest making a quick photo station, then taking more fine pictures.

Easiest way to make a station is to get a white a4 piece of paper and an exercise book. Open the exercise book and place it on the size, and use the a4 piece of paper as the floor. Place it near a table edge and have a good light source nearby.

If you want to take good pictures - please follow these instructions. It will make it a lot easier for Dakka to constructively critique your stuff/ shower your masterpiece in praise
