Choosing whatever faction you like / play best what are you hoping for with them when 8th drops?

As an avid Nids fan, I hope their MCs start to feel like MCs and can actually be useful and meaningful.
I hope they dont go down the route of making individual Nid characters with personalities ala they did with Crons.
Hoping gribblies become useful again.
Hoping different builds, whether its nidzilla, gribbly-heavy, stealth ala stealers/lictors, flying MCs or any other combo become viable and useable.
I hope they get some sort of fearless / "we dont care as we pile into the meat grinder" rule - as Nids have always been fluff-wise.
And lastly I hope they return to the hth combat killers they should always have been.

I concur Ratiussss.

For my Sisters, and these run the range from small tweaks to larger system changes:

Revamp on AoF, hopefully they can be more consistent or powerful.

Increased value on units like Celestians or Command Squads.

Some free formations are always welcome.

Not so much a wish, but I will be very curious on how their shield of faith works with the new rules.

I want to see things like Sentinels and roughriders for the IG become viable!

I also want to see the basic Lemon Russ become cool again.

Also, how cool will it be to severely weaken vehicles/monstrous creatures then move onto others with your heavy weapons while you focus fire on the weakened ones with concentrated las fire? In my head that looks awesome.

I'm also hoping that orders continue to be a thing.

Two hopes for Necrons;

First that we stay flexible, we are one of the few armies in 7th ed that can do CC and Shooting in the same list, I'm hoping that's something we keep in 8th ed.

Second, I hope our vehicles are usable now, for most of 7th we've been an infantry force, it will be nice to spice things up with doom scythes, monoliths, and annihilation barges.

Constantly being negative doesn't make you seem erudite, it just makes you look like a curmudgeon.

If they do indeed go with a battleshock type system for morale, I hope that Nids just have the hordes be like Ld 4, with a rule which states that the unit need not take battleshock rolls so long as one model is within 12" of a synapse creature. This would fix synapse for me - no more dumb tables to roll on and makes it a lot less punishing as a game mechanic.

As a Salamander player, I would kinda hope we can take Heavy Flamers as a heavy weapons option in Tactical Squads. Never made sense why we couldn't before.

I don't play Black Templars, but they should be fierce in CC, and not like the joke they are now

Other than that, I hope ALL armies become viable and stop gathering dust on shelves somewhere.

I said it before that none of the OP armies are over nerfed. This especially includes Tau. Eldar to a lesser extent since there is less hate towards them. I doubt space marines (who are actually the most op right now) have any fear of being over nerfed though.

I just want every faction to be equally as powerful. I just have my doubts.

kdk - retain the blood tithe
sm chapters - make tacs worth taking. They're the reason I got into the army for feth's sake!
tau - less big suit spam, more internal balance
orks - more diverse melee weapons, more balanced randomness (less prone to self-harm as opposed to boosted effectiveness), and a fair few point decreases
imperial agents - inquisitorial storm troopers!

For my Tau - I'd to see some things get toned down to a degree, but I'm thinking that the Monster/Vehicle damage table balance out my Riptide and Ghostkeels. I hope we keep our Markerlights. D-Fish cheaper, maybe 50pts/model rather than 80.

Grey Knights - This army will depend on several main rule changes - Psykers, weapon profiles, assault, and Deep Strike. They need help, but not from a single source. Many things need changed in order to really make these guys shine. Storm Bolters becoming a better weapon would be nice, maybe assault 3, maybe Shred (or whatever its equivalent is in 8th). Though Incinerator spam could be a good boost. I truly, truly hope that assault isn't a random charge, it just becomes double base movement. I'd like to see force weapons have a solid rend value as well. I also hope that my different force weapons have different effects (and this applies to power weapons on the whole).

CSM - Again, this will rely on several things. Different Marks of Chaos, a definite price reduction on all units, I find it sad that my TS/NL squads are simply far too expensive for what they bring to the table. Obliterators... for the love of Chaos, take away the stupid rule of having to change to different weapons every turn, same goes for Mutilators. On that note, I desperately want new models for both those units, they're the worst looking models GW produces, IMO. Updated Legion tactics need to stay around and improve as well, most of the ones we got were a step in the right direction, but still fell flat.

For all my armies, I want essentially every unit in the codex to have viability. I don't mind certain units being better than others for certain tactics/armies, but I don't like seeing units that have no use whatsoever. Vespids, for example. Why? There is no situation that currently exists where they are an optimal unit. Crisis suits do their job better in all respects, and can engage a wider variety of targets. This is exacerbated in the CSM 'dex, even with all the available supplements. Warp Talons..? Never seen them on the table. Not once, in 5 years. I'm sure some folks have used them, but none of the people I play with have ever used them, nor seen them used. I love my Thousand Sons, but they're criminally overpriced. AP3 bolters meant something at one time, but it's still just a bolter. Add on the SnP USR, and they just fall over. Almost no situation exists where an equivalent cost of CSM (or, sadly, even better) a unit of Cultists, wont be a better expenditure of points. GK Strike squads are in a similar boat. They're still just PA, and cost similarly to TS, but geared for assault instead of shooting - and we all know how well assault works this edition.

Sometimes, the only truth people understand, comes from the barrel of a gun.

As for Tau, it would be nice to see other forces being worthwhile other than suit spam. Maybe some Kroot, Vespid, and human allies would be cool to see as well.

Back to Space Marines, I hope that Dreadnoughts actually become worth taking again and that Land Raiders become the tough as nails transport tank it's meant to be. I'm also happy to see two wound Terminators finally.

Astra Militarum, their Leman Russ battle cannons need to lose the ordnance rule so their other guns aren't useless. Losing blast templates for the Wyverns will be awesome. Those always took way too long to resolve shooting with. It,would also be nice if Ogryns got cheaper points wise so they'd be useful again maybe.

Necrons, well Wraiths certainly need to be a little more expensive than what they are now and it would be cool to see Monoliths being played again. Also, the random C'tan powers need to go. Give the players a choice.

Tyranids, please make the iconic genestealers and Carnifexes worth taking again. Shadow in the Warp needs to be revamped to be useful again.

Orks, the Mob Rule needs to go and hopefully they just get bonuses to leadership the larger a unit gets. Like +1 leadership for every 10 Boys in a squad maybe? I'd love to see Flash Gitz being useful again too. Be nice to have an Ork shooty unit other than Lootas.

Chaos Daemons, they need a nerf on summoning, nerf on screamerstar 2++ re-rolling invuln saves, just not nerfed into complete uselessness I guess.

Chaos Marines, fix the base cost of a lot of their units, make Berserkers worth taking for cc again, Thousand Sons Rubrics should really have two wounds to represent how tough they are to take down. Bolster some of the Legion traits. It would be cool to see Dark Mechanicum as its own faction too maybe.

Kroot should do well in the assault. I wonder if Pulse Rifles will get Rending (maybe drop to STR4, Rending -1?) and if Pulse Carbines will have a more reliable effect on Movement (-1" of movement per casualty, rather than all or nothing?).

Dunno on that one. Bolters didn't change any with the exception of the new AP system. So I kinda doubt Pukse Rifles will see a change other than to drop their AP to "-"

Psycannon: Str 7 Damage 1 AP - Assault 2/Heavy 4 (note: I hope salvo disappears)
Psiliencer: Str 4 Damage 1d3 AP - Assault 6
Incinerator: Str 6 Damage 1 AP - Assault 1d6 always hits

And Grey knights may freely use Adeptus Astares equipment in addition to Greyknight equipment (IE: Rhinos, Razorbacks, Whirlwinds, Thunderfire cannons, Predators, Vindicators, ect.)

For orks:

Special snowflake rules for the clans and pseudoclans (freebootas, feral orks, etc.)
Strength 4 boyz
More units ('Ard Boyz, Skarboyz, Yoofs, Madboyz, etc.)
Make killkannons/dakka builds viable for battlewagons*
Keep a lot of customization options for the bigger ork vehicles**
Well-executed randomness
I hope ork vehicles continue to explode humorously, but I hope it is done in such a way that it doesn't overly penalize the ork player

*Or a different unit, like a better version of a gunwagon

**I'm worried with streamlining they'll give us two builds for battlewagons and stompas. That would be a shame. On the other hand, I do like the "Deff Arsenal" option that Forgeworld came up with for their kustom stompa. Basically instead of choosing from the huge multitude of weapons to mount on the hull of a stompa, you could take a Deff Arsenal that gets a random number of high-strength shots plus a random number of blast template rokkits as an abstraction for the crazy amount of weapons the orks have bolted on to the stompa's hull. I think that's a decent way of doing it and allows for lots of modeling opportunities.

How will markerlights function?
I would assume they will no longer ignore cover with 2 lights. Probably will reduce cover now.

Would love to see how railguns be viable options. If lascannons are S9 Heavy 1 D6 Dmg then I think that Rail guns should be even more devastating.
It will be great to see hammerheads and Railsides on the table.

Of course it will be good if Kroot and Vespid are better.

Over all I want each gun to serve a purpose and be viable. I never take:
Pulse Carbines
Rail Rifles
Ion Rifles
CIBs
AFPs

With blasts gone, I wonder what a Riptides IA will do or the Fusion gun on Ghostkeels

I really really hope Sunsharks and Razorsharks are better because I'd like more options than a Barracuda.

Really excited to see how FW units will function like Y'varha's, Hazard suits and tetras. I think they will really fill some nice roles that Crisis suits and Riptides do'n't.

Also how will Ethereals abilities look?

Other than this list I'd still like to see a light tank (think and falcon) that is good for bringing small squads of breachers up the field.

And of course more mercenary allies.

I want to see Wraithknigbt rescaled. I bought 3 on the first week they arrived simply because I liked the models.

I've only ever used a Wraithknight in 1 game (knights and a revenant vs some imperial knights). I'd get judged for just bringing them around sure it was powerful but it's no invisible anything literally just models I liked.

I'd also like to see their weapons balanced out the suncannon needs a huge buff because it's honestly awful. While D cannons with the removal of 6 is dead probably will be more balanced so will the sword.

I'd like to see the avatar and wraith lords being utter junk some buffs to the special characters all around really yreil and the pheonixes have been bad for a while.

Otherwise jetbikes probably need to be moved from troops and aspects like shinning spears scorpions and banshees (basically the melee ones need a decent buff) and that would fix most things.
