Looking for some help with an escalation league in my local area. Already played the first round against Salamanders, moving on to the second round in about a week set at 750 points. I like to run Footdar, so no Serpents, jetbikes, etc. I don't know yet what army I will play against, but looking for some generic help for the list. I have not really played 40k since 5th edition, played a few games in 6th and I think 1 in 7th. Learned a few things in the first game, but any help would be appreciated. The models I currently have available are listed below.

Eldrad Ulthuan/Farseer
Asurmen/Dire Avenger Exarch
Jain Zar/Howling Banshee Exarch
Farseer
Warlock Conclave (6)
Spiritseer
Guardians (20)
Scatter Laser Anti-Grav Platform
Rangers (10)
Dire Avengers (9)
Howling Banshees (8)
Striking Scorpions (9)
Striking Scorpions Exarch
Swooping Hawks (5)
Dark Reapers (6)
Dark Reapers Exarch
Wraithlord (2)
Aegis Defense Line

I know I am missing pretty much all the really good units, but I like to play the models I like. First game didn't go well as he had tanks and dreads and I only took a single scatter laser. Appreciate the help.

My though for this next game was the following list (still points left over)

Farseer
10 Guardians w/Scatter Laser and Warlock
10 Guardians w/Scatter Laser and Warlock
10 Striking Scorpions w/Exarch (Claw)
5 Swooping Hawks

Glad to see another footdar player on here. So the list your thinking of taking is a traditional footdar list and the funnest to play, or at least it was. Unfortunately in this edition they are hard to play with the short range on the guns and light armor. I run a guardian battle host with 3 units of 10 guardians and even with the 6" guarantee run move they still just get shot off the board. But looking though what you have I came up with what I think would be very fun to play at this point level and maybe will catch your opponents off guard, since it is not typical jet bike spam.

Aspect Host (+1 weapon skill) 325 Pts

4 howling banshee w/ exarch
4 Striking Scorpions w/ exarch(Scorpion claw)
4 Striking Scorpions w/ exarch(scorpion claw)

Combined Arms Detachment 425 pts

Farseer

5 Rangers
5 Rangers

5 Dark Reapers w/ exarch and starshot missiles

That is 750 on the nose. So since getting across the board is hard for footdar, lets just start the game where we need to be. You can choose to infiltrate your rangers and scorpions and place them where they will be most effective. Then in heavy cover in your deployment put the dark reapers, banshees and the farseer. Have your farseer join the dark reapers and roll on Ruins of Fate. You will get guide which is really good for the reapers. (and if your lucky and get doom and fortune then they will be your MVPS) I would just keep the banshees in the back to screen for the reapers to make sure they don't get charged, and during the mid to end game go grab a objective. The Reapers will handle all vehicles and heavy infantry. 6 Strength 8 ap3 shots or 12 Strength 5 ap3 shots all twin linked (thanks to guide) and thanks to their long range you can stay out of range and force your opponent to come to you. Then try and cut them off with your scorpions. Anyway Hope this helps and I hope you have a great time in the league!

I really like that list. The only issue is I don't have two scorpion exarches. Might try the two units with just one having an exarch. Might add a scorpion or two to the one with the exarch. Other than that it looks like the exact list I would love to run. Appreciate the help. I also always forget Rangers can infiltrate. That's good to know.

The footdar were victorious, but only barely. Played against a Grey Knights list with a unit of termies, two dreadknights, and a special character (some steampunk looking lady). Came down to one banshee staying alive to get line breaker. Need help with a 1k list going against Necrons. I don't think I have ever played against Necrons and the only thing I know about them is they get back up.

I have not looked into the Reborn Warhost much, not sure what they include. The list of what all I have is on the first post, not certain if I have all the necessary models to run this warhost.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Here is the list I'm thinking of running. I've never played against Necron so don't really know if this will be any good.

CAD
Farseer
Rangers x5
Rangers x5
Guardians x20 w/Warlock w/Scatter Laser x2

Aspect Host (+1 BS)
Dark Reapers x5 w/Exarch (starshot missiles)
Dire Avengers x8 w/Exarch
Striking Scorpions x8 w/Exarch (Scorpion Claw)

Comes to 998 points.

The Reborn Warhost is similar to a CAD (however no fortifications and any number of formations), but has restricted units. The only thing that Craftworld Eldar cannot use (other than Forgeworld units) within the Reborn Warhost is the Avatar of Khaine.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
