So, when looking over my Terminators again, I noticed that a lot of them have Heavy Flamers. Like, A LOT of them. However, Heavy Flamers count as heavy weapons, right? Just wanted to double check before buying more Terminators and/or more Storm Bolter bits.

They are on the Terminator Weapons list.

The Type of the Heavy Flamer that a Terminator carries is the one that is in the BRB.

And it wouldn't matter much due to the bonuses that Terminator Armour provides the wearer.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

What does the weapon profile (and not the weapon name) say under 'Type'?

Sorry, just jumping back in and have no rulebook/code on hand (probably should just torrent one for the time being) and mistook the wording.

What I meant is that standard Terminator squads have certain options that only one guy can take (like Assault Cannons and Cyclone Missile launchers). Heavy Flamers count as one of those, right?

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Whydoes it matter? IIRC to a terminator heavy and assault weapons are the same, yes?

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

It's an assault weapon. I realise that's not what you are asking though - yes it counts towards the 1 in 5 limit on weapon upgrades.

Heavy flamers on Terminators are unsung heroes. Most prefer the ass cannon. I love my heavy flamer. It has never failed me and often is my MVP of each game. Deepstrike or hop out of a vehicle and put down that template and just remove a squad is oh so satisfying. Though with the rules chaning, they might not be as good, since regular flamers are now just S4 D6, I am assuming heavy flamers will be D6 S5 Av-1, which will be very sad. Hopefully it will be 2d6 or maybe even S5 D6 AV-2.
