I heard glue and that was a good thing. Being able to break it down is a bonus. Too many screws in tight corners can be disastrous. Sounds like you sorted it out in the end. Might have considered metal bracing in corners and overbuilding with larger lumber using nuts bolts and big washers instead of screws...

Thanks. I was going to look at some metal corner braces next time I'm at the hardware store, as I think the bottom shelf could use a little more strength.
