Yeah, Oppa Taunar Style is the last hit from T'au to the Farsight Enclaves since the Third Sphere Expansion!
Now being serius, Culexus can cause fear his power not only awainst psychers, but against everyone. Is just like Nulls. They can kill Psychers only by being near, but they still can cause pain to normal people. Culexus, obviously, is more strong against Psychers, but just as every Imperial Assasins, they are weapons of murder and destruction.
Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Culexus assassins actually have a remarkably annoying voice. That's why Aun'va is unaffected. He has the ability to turn his hearing aids off.
H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.
Tau aren't totally unconnected from the Warp, they're not blanks.
In the same way an Eldar soul burns much brighter in the Warp than a Human, a Human burns far brighter in the Warp than a Tau.
Doesn't mean that Tau are immune to Warp stuff, or that they aren't affected by psychic blanks in the way other races are, doesn't mean they're immune to psychic powers or possession or the taint of the warp, they're just almost completely uninteresting and tasteless to the entities that reside therein and cannot make as strong a connection to it as other races can.
IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights! The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.
If I recall correctly the Culexus was undetectable by electronic sensors etc as well which explains why it was so effective against the Tau. Definitely the assassin I least expected to complete it's mission though.
Yeah there's a good example in one of the Dawn of War games. When attacking a Chaos guy most factions get a psychic hallucination. However, the Tau just thinks there's static coming through his comms system.

To be honest I don't see why telepathy wouldn't work with Tau. They aren't blanks. They have zero protection against Psychic shenanigans.
Maybe there's something else at work. The culexus could be disturbing the Tau mind control cystal, cutting them off from their ethereal.
His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.
The background for the Culexus Assassin says that even "normal" people "can barely stand to be in the same room as a Pariah. As for why he's there at all, well as far as the Imperium is concerned, the Ethereal's power may well be a psychic phenomenon.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Where does that image come from, anyway?

That would make the most sense..
but what I really find awkward with this pic is that the Ethereal seems completely unaffected.
It is known that non-psy feel uneasy in the presence of a Pariah, that Tau here seem to be in pain..
Also the Soul Sucking helmet device on the Culexus Assassin doesn't appear to be active, which would also explain the Fire Warriors issues...
Among minor blanks (aka: "Untouchables"), is where the uneasiness and discomfort come in. Powerful blanks (the ones typically called "Pariahs", even though all blanks carry the Pariah Gene) can elicit strong negative emotions, and provoke violence from non-psykers. If you have a presence in the Warp, a Culexus can affect you in one way or another, since they are extremely powerful blanks.

Still the response in that pic seems OOT, because if it could do that to Tau... what would stop a few of these doing away with entire Eldar Craftworlds...
Yeah normal people feel revulsion to blanks. Talks about it in sister of silence material; that HH book with the Emperor and war near the throne talks about it.
The Culexus just looks cool though even with the too big helmet to walk around without major cramp thing.
You can find me in the Chicago Tiki Room, where the drinks are always strong but don't taste that way!!!

The soul sucking helmet (Animus Speculum) is still working by collecting the essence of those around it. Once it reaches a certain point, the polarity reverses and it fires a beam of psychic energy at a target. If I recall, this was how the Culexus
I mean the codex says how some people think that they controlled with crystals or possibly pheromones/other chemicals. Maybe they are like the tyranids and have a hive mind. Perhaps this is a second Wh40k Hive Mind? Cut them off from the ethereal and perhaps they just can't handle it.

I like the ethereal's expression in that op pic, he's like "will you guys shut the hell up with the screaming, I want to hear what this guy has to say".
I suspect its because a Culexus is a lot less bloodier when it gets to work killing, as opposed to the other assassins, so its more family friendly than the other options.
That's the cynic in me though. There is probably a good lore reason, but one would think that sending an anti-psyker against those who are not psykers wouldn't be particularly optimal.
