Heyo

I am currently in the process of planning out a Carcharodons army. Starting off an an allied for my Flesh Tearers then I want them to become their own thing. What are some ideas you guys have for a fluffy but semi practical army? I am plotting this for 7E not 8th, so please dont say that it dosnt matter now n all that. Might swap to 8th some day but right now me n my friends are happy with 7E.

My first allied army is just a Drop pod and assault squad (no jump packs) armed with chain axes, no pistols. Useful? probably not, flavorful, yep! (Before they get shot to pieces in one turn ) but going forward I want something semi practical. I plan of getting Tyberos The Red Wake for his Terminator troop choice. I also want a unit of Cataphractii terminators due to the Sharks having (according to rumor) originated during there heresy by mashing Raven Guard, Night Lords and World Eaters, so older suits make sense (Also lightning claw Cataphractii look sweet!
The majority of the marines I have so far are Legion Marines, MKIV for the flavored look.

Anyway, do any of you guys have any flavorful ideas to help me build this force? Or any funny ideas or experiences, etc? Id really appreciate any input

Just make sure you have lots of assault squads. Also make sure all the kits you get are mark V from Forge World.

Finally, if you are getting Tyberos then the cataphractii won't really match him, but if that doesn't bother you then go for it!

Wow, some love has been put into those models! Thanks for the link

I'm certainly looking into assault but is there much difference between the plastic ones available and the Forgeworld mini's?

As for the Terminators, I'm okay with a little mismatch as they gear is recycled given they are in the void for most of their action.

There is no difference in that all the parts between GW and FW marines are interchangeable, mark v head with Mark iii body with GW marine legs etc. Though Carcharodons are noted for having a large amount of Mark V for some reason.

Just as you said, they are also known for resupplying on the run, so mismatching marks is a cool way of showing this, and giving your army some flair, especially if you have most of it as mark V.

This isn't to say thst you can't just use GW marines if you want, as they already are a mash up of different marks, but as you are going FW anyway, you may as well go full hog!
