Can units that are Downed still Hide?

It's a pretty important question, otherwise if someone gets hit by a shot, there's really no way to avoid getting hit again next turn.

The argument against:

A unit that is Down or Pinned can do nothing except crawl 2"

The argument for:

Becoming Hidden is something declared by the player, not something done by the unit. Also, it's part of a move, so can it be part of the 2" crawl move?

Also, it seems pretty necessary from a balance point of view, otherwise someone who's Pinned actually becomes easier to hit.

Thoughts??

Thanks for the help guys.

Can't seem to find anything that would allow you to hide once down.
That said, unless you have a height advantage, they would be harder to see due to using true line of sight and the model lying flat on the ground...ish.
That's probably also why you can still move when downed, so you can get to safety.

This^

If you're pinned or down and crawling inches, it's pretty easy to get out of LOS. I'm pretty certain you cannot hide.
