So I was checking through the General's Handbook today and came across a couple of Empire Warscroll Battalions that cost points; the State Troop Detachment and the Brotherhood of Knights. The units it describes are the Free Peoples units now, but describe them with their old names (for example, State Troops instead of Freeguild Guard). There is a subfaction called The Empire, but none of the units it describes are under it, so I'm confused whether these just aren't usable now or if they can be used by Free Peoples.

Sorry if this is a silly question, they just seem quite good so I wanted to make sure.

It's in the FAQ that if the battalion uses units which have since been replaced with a different warscroll, the battalion can't be used. But in practical terms I seriously doubt anyone in a casual setting will have a problem with it, if they even know of that faq bit at all.
