Sine Tempore is live on kickstarter and has some really nice miniatures.

That does look pretty cool, especially as it has already blown through 24 stretch goals, unlocking new board tiles, new cards and 8 new heroes/bosses

Really attractive designs, but another one of those "we have great plans in 3D art...which we won't really be able to translate into quality miniatures".

Unless it's a proven company I stray away from any KS which doesn't show test prints/test models, etc.

I was looking at this the other day. Sculpts look great and I love the idea of a half base that attaches to a bigger one for a pet. But I'm just outta cash right now :(

We should find out in the next few weeks if they're a proven company or not, as their first game, Nova Aetas, which has some similar gameplay concepts, should be arriving in backers' hands around that time.

That said, there are definitely some neat looking sculpts here.

Supposedly that giant mech is going to be hitting around 100mm in size. That's getting into Cthulhu Wars sizes!

The models look amazing. My plan is to download and skim through the rulebook. I already have enough games that don't see any real play. At the very least, if the scale is good, I see some real potential for Chaos Daemon and Tau Empire conversion bait.

Any reviews of the models from the about to be delivered Nova Aetas?

The large mecha is outstanding, and the linking round bases are clever, but the techno-high heels and orb-like breasts on that not-Eyriss model are stupid.

Not-Darth Vader's pose is also pretty boring and kinda awkward. Is he leading an orchestra?

Agreed. Too many KS have tanked and being involved in a few leads me to question anything not actually in production.

This looks really cool. Their previous Kickstarter game, Nova Aetas, is in production and should be in people's hands soon, and there are already pictures of the final production miniatures, so I don't doubt their ability to turn these into reality. Obviously PVC board game miniatures are never going to look as crisp as the 3D renders do.

I love the miniature design, but board games generally don't do it for me.

I've asked them if they plan to do an RPG, and will let you know what they say...

There are a bunch of pictures in one of the updates that show actual production miniatures from Nova Aetas: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lmstudio/sine-tempore/posts/1893244

The Board Game Geek stretch goals are fun. They've already unlocked three characters from Spaceballs. If the unlock the last one you can play through the game with a full party of them. Not sure if they have any rules, or are just miniatures to swap out for some of the normal characters.

Yes, I saw this posted in the comments:

@Oliver Schaaf - the BGG characters will come with personal rules, we want that this characters break the atmosfear of the game with a light approach, they will be funny, with funny skills and equipments. We keep an eye on the balance, they will be funny but not weak.

Crap. Now there's a Captain Harlock proxy coming down the stretch goal pipeline.

Next thing you know we'll have a Go Nagai inspired robot show up...

Looks like copies of Nova Aetas are out in the wild. Here are some pictures of an unboxing that show the miniatures really well. They look pretty good.

Tempted to back this but the minis would need to scale with my collection.

The scale pic shows the warhammer quest barbarian. Isn't he much larger than a normal human gw mini?

Hmmm... They look fine as board game pieces (which is their intention of course) but not more than that, imo:

Thanks for linking to the pics, very helpful!

They just added a pets add-on: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lmstudio/sine-tempore/posts/1901954

I love the pets.

Yes, the pets are pretty cool - I could see using those minis in a number of games.

Hope they're available as a resin add on.

So anyone with the Nova Aetas figures, can you tell me are they that board game plastic, which is sort of soft like Imperial Assault or is it hard like GW plastic, or resin?

I just got Imperial Assault and not a fan of that plastic, very hard to clean up all the mold lines, but its more a board game, and not a table top game so they used that board game plastic not the good plastic like GW uses.

I thought the Nova Aetas figures looked pretty nice. Ludofact make pretty nice quality figures after all.

As this campaign continues to chug along, they've unlocked another boss monster,

found another crew member to fight/ recruit to your cause,

unlocked more 3d terrain, a KS exclusive box, are on their way to unlocking more tiles, and will soon have a god showing up for a boss fight as well.

Plus there's one more expansion coming, and with it an all-in bundle, and we've seen artwork for quite a bit of stuff that still hasn't shown up (cyber gorillas, hydra monster, various creatures).

All in all it's been a very well run campaign so far. Who knows what those last 48 will hold?

Less than 24 hours to go and there's been a lot of movement on this.

Unfortunately they're getting rushed and not updating things as quickly as they should but here's the latest inclusions.

3 new enemy types are now included for another 13 minis (armored female fawns, flying armored ranged guys, and baba yaga style beastgrandma with psychic powers).

3 new boss enemies (midget on a gun crab, a giant mecha gorilla, and an armored sphinx model).

Solo mode missions for a single hero and solo player aides for running the whole group.

Plus the usual extra gear, missions, and a few more 3d terrain pieces.

Final(?) stretch goal is a robotic hydra at 600k, supposedly hitting in around 100mm.
