As part of an escalation campaign at my local GW, I chose to take on a new Ironjawz force having previously played a lot with Moonclan and Beastclaw Raiders. They did well in the escalation league against all but a disk heavy Tzeentch list; the highlight of the league being my Megabits charging 20 newly summoned Bloodletters, killing 14, taking no wounds, and the remaining six ran from battleshock. Excellent! But my entry into the matched play system hasn't been so successful, and I think it's down to the way I'm approaching games.

General hints and tips on basic Ironjawz tactics against unknown opponents are needed. Running the Ironfist battalion 6" move in combination with the Destruction 6" move and +2" from the general trait is great, but I'm more often than not coming short on charges. It's got me thinking that the best option for Ironjawz would be to go second and hopefully pull off more likely charges that way. Is that something anyone has had success with?

Currently, I'm running 1,000pts of:

Megaboss, Rampager, Battle Brew
Warchanter
10 Ardboys
2x5 Brutes
3 Gore-Gruntas
Battalion - Ironfist

3,500 (and building) ASM
3,000 Blood Angels
1500 Eldar (abandoned)

AoS - Beastclaw Raiders, Ironjawz, Night Goblins, and Ogors - Destruction remains unvanquished!
