So I have this fantasy squad build idea, just for kicks and giggles.

Legion Veteran Destroyer Squad (Fantasy Build) 175 points
WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
LVD Marine 4 4 4 4 1 4 2 9 3+
LVD Sgt 4 4 4 4 1 4 2 9 3+

Unit Composition
5 Legion Vet Space Marines (No Sgt)
Wargear
Bolter, Bolt Pistols, Chainsword, Rad and Krak grenades, Power armor, Nuncio-Vox
Special Rules
Legiones Astartes, Veteran Tactics, Counter Attack

Options
5 additional Veteran Destroyers +20 each
LVD Squad may take Melta Bombs +25 points
Shotguns Free (because shotguns need love too)
Any LVD may take Combi-Weapon +10 each
Any LVD may take Combi-Grenade +10 each
All Combi-Grenades can upgraded to fire Rad-Grenades +30 Points
For every five models in the squad, one Veteran Destroyer Space Marine may exchange his bolter for one of the following
*Heavy Bolter & suspensor web +20 points each
*Missle Launcher w/Suspensor Web
and Krak or Rad Missles +25 points each
*One LVD may be upgraded to Sgt +10 points
*The LVD Sargent may exchancge his chainsword for one of the following:
*Power fist +15 points
*Thunder hammer +20 points
*The LVD Sargent may upgrade his power armor to Hardened Armor +10 points
*If the LVD Sargent is equiped with a combi-grenade, he may fire Rad/Phosphex
though the combi-grenade +10 points each

So there it is...rip me a new one, because "it's too OP"
Or at least an honest opinion..
Designed it as a group a murderous head hunters. Real go-getters.

285 pts for 10 veterans tacticals with rad-grenades and counter attack?
Count me out.

10 veteran tacticals and a forgelord with rad grenades is cheaper (255) and does the same trick.

10 veteran destroyers costs as much as 8 terminators and lose in a firefight or a fistfight.

I know you may have rolled your eyes reading the build, but thanks for the opinion.

What's with the Nuncio-Vox per model? Seems kind of odd, considering it's normally a 1/squad thing.

It really doesn't look that different, to be honest. It's just a normal Destroyer squad with bolters and the option for combi-grenade launchers. Look at the difference between Tacticals and Veteran Tacticals in role, much more than in simple things like statline, and I doubt you'll find a good reason to have 'Veteran Destroyers."

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Vox: You're right, I should've written it down as it being one model.

Perhaps to saturate a whole area with rad-nades.

Then just make them an upgrade to a Veteran Squad. As is other than Rad Grenades there is little that keeps them in the same vein as Destroyers. Destroyers would technically already be a form of Veteran.

Rad grenades have no ranged effect, they are purely a CC effect.
If you are thinking of rad-missiles, they are cool, but possibly the most situational weapon in the game.

Honestly?
I'd rather see a bigger set of upgrades for the veteran tactical squad, including extra bolt pistols, jump packs etc.
Then we can have a veteran assault squad and a viable alternative to the veteran marksman squad.

Hmm... let me see if I can address these. Compared to the first draft of it~

Wargear (So....LVDs carry 3 or 4 pistols now?)
Bolter, Extra Bolt Pistols, Chainsword, Rad and Krak grenades, Jump Packs, Power armor, 1 Nuncio-Vox
Special Rules
Legiones Astartes, Veteran Tactics, Counter Attack

Options
LVD squad may upgrade to Jump Packs 30+ points
5 additional Veteran Destroyers +20 each
LVD Squad may take Melta Bombs +25 points
Shotguns Free (because shotguns need love too)
Any LVD may take Combi-Weapon +10 each
Any LVD may take a Combi-Flamer +10 each Combi-Flamer can cause 4+ poison
Any LVD may take Combi-Grenade +10 each
All Combi-Grenades can upgraded to fire Rad-missles +30 Points
For every five models in the squad, one Veteran Destroyer Space Marine may exchange his bolter for one of the following
*Heavy Bolter & suspensor web +20 points each
*Missle Launcher w/Suspensor Web
and Krak or Rad Missles +25 points each
*One LVD may be upgraded to Sgt +10 points (gets 3 Phosphex nades)
*The LVD Sargent may exchancge his chainsword for one of the following:
*Power fist +15 points
*Thunder hammer +20 points
*The LVD Sargent may upgrade his power armor to Hardened Armor +10 points
If the Sgt upgraded to Hardened armor, then the rest of
the LVD squad can all upgrade to harden armor. +45 points

*If the LVD Sargent is equiped with a combi-grenade, he may fire Rad/Phosphex
though the combi-grenade , and can buy 3 phosphex nades +10 points each.

So here's a new load out different extras, So.... criticize.
