So the IG-2000 title says "Aggressor only".

The soon to be released TIE Aggressor can technically equip this title since it is an "Aggressor".

Yes this works, otherwise the TIE Mk2 Engine upgrade couldn't be used at all, and T-70 X-wings couldn't use the Integrated Astromech card.

Enjoy it while it lasts before the inevitable Errata for IG-2000 to be Scum Only.

But why would you bother? There is no possible benefit from it. As an imperial player you can't get an IG2000 as a friendly anyway.

Ahh no.

Full Card Text

You have the pilot ability of each other friendly ship with the IG-2000 Upgrade card (in addition to your own pilot ability).

specifically says IG-2000 which us imperials can't have access to.

No, this does work (for now, obviously). The IG-2000 title card says "Aggressor only" which technically applies to the TIE Aggressor.

So you can make all your Tie Aggressors share their pilot abilities. Shenanigans ensue.

Going by the 2 named pilots that were spoiled today, you could have a group of TIE Aggressors that all have pseudo-gunner (When you miss w/ a secondary, you may attack with another weapon) and can spend a focus to cancel a defender's eyeball & blank defense dice. Scary.

All of the above? Check, until FFG gets the Errata out.

No, it doesn't work because FFG is not going to let such an obvious (and completely broken balance-wise) attempt at rules lawyering stand. It's going to be FAQed, and even if it isn't right away it's blatant TFG behavior to try to take advantage of the mistake. So I really don't see what the point of this thread is.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

No it doesn't... Sure the card says Aggressor Title but read the rest of the card and the title of the Card IG-2000 AND the Tie Aggressor is called TIE AGGRESSOR. FFS it even has a picture of the IG on it! You know that the intended ship that the title card is for so stop being a dumbarse about using it for the Tie aggressor which is a completely different ship.

Yes, they will doubtlessly errata it. But RAW it totally works. Pictures =/= rules. The point of this thread is to mock FFG for being sloppy with their wording.

As for how you would theoretically make a list with it,

You'd do some Sienar Specialists with TLT and IG-2000 titles. Then you have either of the TIE Aggressor Aces(or have both of them) also with TLT and the IG-2000 title. It's technically legal to equip because TIE Aggressors are "Aggressors", which is the requirement for the IG-2000 card.

Then you have all of your TIE Aggressors with one or both of the pilot abilities of the TIE Aggressor character ships.

Yes it's busted as all hell. It's also 100% legal, currently. I fully expect an Errata. But till then it's fully legal.

Actually, if FFG does not errata it (and I believe that we all know that they will), then it does work, whether or not you like it. All you need is for the ship name to contain all of the requirements. The TIE Aggressor contains all of the text listed as a requirement for IG-2000. Pictures don't matter. Fluff doesn't matter. So, Xcaliber is not the one being a "bumbarse" about it.

Yes, and the IG-2000 card is a Title for "Aggressor only".

Like it or note, the TIE Aggressor is an "Aggressor". So technically it can equip it.

You do not need to have only the requirements on your card. You can have additional monikers and you qualify for any cards that specify any of those portions of your ship's name, in part or in full. Otherwise, no ship could EVER equip the TIE Mk2 Engine modification since there is no ship just called "TIE". There are a lot of TIE "Xs", however. This is the same deal technically. Any ship with Aggressor in it's name can equip the IG-2000 Title. Weather Aggressor is it's full name, or just part of it's name.

Yes, but intention isn't rules. Even when it's obvious.

The rules do indeed allow this to work, it's not deniable. I expect it will be Errata'd, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work currently.

I think that you and the birdy are missing the fact that everyone pointing this out is basically having a laugh, and the only people who are being serious are the ones who are getting bent out of shape when someone points out that that FFG made a mistake. So you can lay off the personal attacks.

They're probably going to errata in a "Scum Only" on that title.

Yeah, or add something to the Agressor (IG's) name to separate it (which I would like, as it would set a precedent for them to do that with stuff like the T-65).

Honestly, I think it is a testament to how well they have written rules if this is 1)making as much waves as it is at the moment. 2)It's happened less than a handful of times. Like, gully-dwarves counting number of times.

Everyone in this thread suggesting this works is being cheeky. Chill guys. Be zen.

^^ This guy gets it.

Everybody at my FLGS thinks it's pretty funny. A few are even planning to play joke matches with it for the rest of the group's entertainment.

Ok, it is legal, but they real question is WHO is going to actually buy 2 more IG-2000's to get the title cards for something that is going to obviously be errated soon.

Don't forget, the ship hasn't released yet, the errata may be coming with the release of the ship - so technically it is NOT legal yet because the TIE Aggressor has not yet released.

True, but the Tie is out soon. And I'll wager there are enough people who own 2 IG-2000 from a scum list. And people will probably just proxy anyway. Just because its hilarious.

And who knows, FFG could take a while to errata this potentially.

Funny, the latest FAQ has three blocks of Red text.

1) We meant to do that with the C-Roc
2) Aggressor Fix
3) No, you can't take actions during setup.

It was actually kind of ambiguous because there are effects that could trigger in deployment. For example, giving Jake a focus token via hyperwave comm scanner, does it trigger his pilot ability and let you boost/br? The answer is "no" now, but it wasn't clear before now
