At the last club meeting we played a few rounds of the game that our club "Chicago Skirmish Wargames" formed around.
Yep, it's Song of Blades and Heroes! After 7 years, SBH still delivers a really fun game.
Of course it doesn't hurt that our terrain and minis have improved markedly since then.
Batreps for the three games and a short nostalgia trip back to the beginning of the club are here:

Good job. Hope you blog the dungeoney Song of Gold and Darkness rules system. I found those blogs to be the most entertaining. I still remember the beastmaster who found out, the hard way, that he couldn't pick up treasure because his beasts didn't have thumbs!

Thanks!
That was my beastmaster. Quite a surprise I recall.
Unfortunately I don't think we'll be doing anymore SBH/SGD next. We've got plans for a Wreck Age campagin this summer.

Do you guys still use the old Revised basic ruleset, or the Advanced ruleset?

We used the revised version. (which I think is the 4th or 5th update?) However, we've also played Advanced and it's quite good also. The added reaction system in ASBH, which I think made it's debut in Of Gods and Mortals, is a very clever and usefull addition.
Still, basic SBH stands up well as one of the few beer-and-pretzels games that is worth taking on campaign.
