Hey all. So bad decisions were made. I used Dryad Bark instead of Rhinox Hide on a vehicle that needs a brown base coat. I was underway with the second paint and for some reason decided to go over it. I did and I kinda want to strip it. So my question is: at what point do you decide to strip a model? The detail isn't being gummed up per se, but the coat is not as smooth as I'd like to be so I'd like to know if I should strip the thing or if I could get away with carefully priming it again, if I want a smooth finish.
I don't have time to post pics right now, lemme know if you want them and I'll figure out how to get them up.
Thanks,
- ripjaw

I would say as you seem unhappy with it now I would consider stripping at this stage. The last thing you want to do is take the model further and only grow increasingly frustrated with the result. Plus now you'll have fewer layers to strip.

With regards to priming again, I wouldn't. Only because all you will be doing is putting a new layer of paint over the less smooth previous coat which won't improve the look at all.

Hope that helps

"Trust in the Emperor at the hour of battle.
Trust to him to intercede, and protect his warriors true as they deal death on alien soil.
Turn their seas to red with the blood of their slain.
Crush their hopes, their dreams
And turn their songs into cries of lamentation."

If your stripping medium can remove the primer, by all means re-prime. If it doesn't, don't worry about it and start with the right basecoat color.
