My Current Collection is being built as a SM shattered legions army, largely based on Loyalist Emporer's Children fleeing at the start of the heresy

As you can see I have a lot of troops type generic units, but would like to start developing some more story into my list, and beginning to build a greater narrative with some additional more characterful models from different chapter(s). Models which have been painted are in Emporer's Children Colours. However, I have exhausted my purple paint and as such am at a perfect opportunity to test another scheme on some remaining tacticals, vehicles etc.

So question 1: Which legions would pair well with loyal Emporer's Children in terms of fluff and colour schemes, as well as being fun to paint?

Question 2: Im looking to add some more legion specific units from Emporer's Children and perhaps the second legion too. Which units/vehicles/characters, either exclusive e.g. palentine blades, or with a greater tendency to one legion, e.g. Breachers would be a good addition to a fluffy but fun Shattered Legions list?

That was my first thought as well, but after the massacre, I doubt you'll find to many Iron Hands even wanting to try to trust anyone from the Emperors Children.

Tarvitz narrowly escaped Istavan and Garro took word back to the emporer, with the fluff im running with Iron Hands could work. How are they fluff wise? Would their unique units, fluff and characters be complimentary?

Well Iron Hands buff tanks and generally have highly durable units. The EC are fast and gain a lot from being transported safely.
Dark purple and metallic black paint very differently, but can look great with an element tying it all together, like white shoulder rims or consistent basing.
