I almost killed someone today. I decided to go for a drive to buy groceries. A fool decided to get on a two-wheeled death trap with no safety features and go for a drive as well. While I was returning home from my grocery trip, our paths crossed. The fool on the death trap was traveling in the opposite direction from me and decided to pass a car around a blind curve in a no passing zone, and I almost hit him head on, both of us traveling about 50 miles per hour in my estimation. Had I hit the fool, he would have been either dead on impact or horribly maimed for the rest of his life, and I would have that on my conscience for perpetuity.

Why on earth do we require so many safety features on automobiles, yet allow the dolts among us to travel on our roads at high speeds on two-wheeled death traps with no safety features whatsoever? Motorcycles should be outlawed immediately. Riding a motorcycle is not cool or edgy. It is a defect of character. If you ride a motorcycle, you are making a mistake of Darwinian proportions.

Don't even know how to approach this post or if I even want to but here we go.

Firstly this is incredibly skewed, influenced directly by your unpleasant experience that had just occurred.

Secondly, you are painting everyone who rides a motorcycle with the one brush and most are not stupid to attempt what the guy did to you and know how to drive.

Thirdly, just because you dont like something is not a reason to get it banned.

I'd like motorcycles banned for nothing less than the safety of the foolish drivers operating these death traps, and for the protection of the psychological well-being of the people who will inevitably kill or maim them.

as a rider myself(Ok, not a motor cycle, but a motorized scooter before I get on a big boy cycle) I can tell you this
Just like it is your responsibility to keep eyes out for cars, it is also your responsibility to keep your eyes out for Motorcycles
The biggest safety feature is person driving. I come from a family FULL of people who ride and I was taught at an early age to keep an eye out for them.
Also, Motorcycles are better on gas and better if your just going out.

I'm not even joking about this. Just think of it. If you are on a motorcycle going at a high rate of speed and get struck by a vehicle, you are either going to die or be seriously injured. It is beyond me why we allow people to operate such inherently unsafe vehicles

I can echo that sentiment - as I lock this thread.

It looks better suited to the OP's Social Media accounts, and it certainly feels like it will rapidly lead to multiple RULE #1 infractions.
