I collect Alpha Legion in 30k, and one of their Defining Features is that Alpha Legion Legionnaires are Taller than Legionnaires of Other Legions.

Now the Primaris Space Marines are Taller than Regular 40k (and 30k) Space Marines but not TOO Huge.

They also wear the MK.X Power Armour, that looks Similar to the MK.IV Power Armour (Which is my Personal Favourite)

Should i do this?
I know i will put myself at a slight disadvantage (due to bigger Models) but this is the proce to pay for Fluff Accurate Armies

Give it a shot.

I myself plan on waiting until the non snap fit Primarus Marines come out but then I will be doing some for my time warped Luna Wolves since Cawl is confirmed to be ready and willing to make them with Traitor Geneseed.

It doesn't say it anywhere. In fact, almost the opposite, Alpharius and Omegon were much smaller in stature that the other Primarchs, so some of the taller legionaries, (I think it was Ingo Pech but I don't have the book to hand) could pass for the Primarch. This is a case of a handful of Alpha Legion being naturally taller, just like Abaddon (who was also described as being huge) and the AL Primarch being short rather than the entire legion being taller.

So, on the one hand, it's you're hobby, no one can stop you from doing this. However from a (((historical))) perspective, I'd vote against it. First thing, those models aren't"taller" Space Marines, they're a totally different scale, massive compared to regular marines and GW will most likely phase out all of the old scale marines for 40k. Secondly, they're wearing a MK of armour that won't exist for another 10k years and they most certainly will not have stats to represent being nearly a third as big as a regular marine.

No, for several reasons:

Economically, the best way to buy mkIV armour is the Calth box, the MkX marines are probably going to be £25 for 5. Thats steeper than FW's stuff.

Fluffwise, there is no reason for the Alphas to be bigger.

The MkX would look completely out of scale with everyone else's marines, which breaks the immersion somewhat for both players.

Ultimately though, you can do as you please.

Without wanting to go off topic too much, I don't actually see this as being likely, certainly not any time soon. The new Primaris Marines are not direct replacements for their older counterparts, they're upgrades. They're an even more elite soldier than marines already are, and are somewhat limited in number. In addition, it would be one thing to phase out a model because an updated model is being released (such as what happened to the old thousand sons stuff when the new rubric marine sets came out), but this is quite another as, as you mentioned, these aren't just new and upgraded models but on a completely different scale, making older collections irrelevant.

Trying to keep somewhat on topic though, I haven't heard of any fluff where Alpha Legionaries are generally taller than average and the armour type would probably stand out quite significantly in the 30k setting so I would not recommend using the Primaris Marines for 30k.

Alpha Legion stole the genetic info that Corax used to make the Raptors, which are totally bigger, faster, and stronger marines, only gave half of it to Horus. Boom. Mad scientist creates the "Pterodactyls" (lizard birds).

Mutated Raptors could be bigger (depends of mutation) but not ones that grew before Alpha Legion's introduced the warp taint into the creation process.

If the only approach is for fluff, then no, this isn't the "fluffy" approach.

Even with FW's own models, and the unique Alpha Legion models, they are the same size as normal Legionaries.

Primaris Marines have the wrong mark of armour, the wrong weapon, and are too large to be in scale.

There is nothing about the Primaris that fit into 30K. There is no fluff to justify their presence in 30K as they were created well after the Horus Heresy, their armor is totally different from anything seen in 30K, their weapons are totally different... yeah, there is just no way to justify using Primaris in a 30K army.

It's your game though and you can do what you want. Just don't get all high handed and Holier Than Thou if someone refuses to play you because you brought the wrong models to a 30K game. I know I would. Then again, I'm a stickler for such things.

I should make a banner- "Keep 30K 30K!" and then below it a strike through on the word Xenos, 40K, and Primaris.
